pluto09: You're right. If with reasonable principal one can in a whole year get just three trades that will give 45% each, the compound interest is enough of a success story for that year. 1 Like |

NobodyKnows: You must be a science student like me. However, you just have to start anyhow and one day you'll start getting it. When I too just started, it looked more difficult and cumbersome than even the Calculus I did at secondary and tertiary levels. It looked like a scene of chaos. But by looking up the dictionary and Google for every technical terminology I began to unravel the mystery in financial reports. As per the disparities between the quoted and trading prices: I was told that there is what is called buying and selling at a premium. Also, the minimum volume required for movement plays a role in the seeming confusion you have. For example if a single trade of 100,000 units is required, according to NSE rules, for a stock to move up or down by the minimum or maximum differential allowed for a day, any trade less than 100,000 units may be done between the buyer and the seller at a price different from the quoted price but that change in price between them will not be regarded as an actual movement in price of the stock until another such trade is carried out involving 100,000 units or more. For some category of stocks it is 10,000 units and for others, 5,000 units in an inverse proportion relationship with their prices. 2 Likes |

NobodyKnows: There's actually such a page....The Statement of Comprehensive Income or Profit and loss. However, in some cases it could be misleading to depend on that alone. For example a company might be in profits yet have a huge liability lurking somewhere that if considered makes the said profit peter into insignificance. So you have to read as many of the pages of figures as there are to have a well informed perception of the company in question. Though it is not easy especially for us from the sciences. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Oh, so it's paining some people now that Aiico's reversal was been discussed...... but when it was Uniondac reversing after gaining 100%, some of these people were the ones running it down with mouth and making jest then. Why the double mouth? Abeg make una allow person wey wan comment do so in peace o. Yesterday, I wanted to post that anyone doing jijo on aiico should sell it but I changed my mind cos of those who might quickly tagged it otherwise. I know it would drink water at N1.00 junction and the total bid was equally very lean xtyday. 2 Likes |

fxuser: So sad I sold my huge holding in the stock against Sir OGGs advise. Though he was still the one that advised me to buy after revealing it in a different investment platform back then. Bought at N1.48 and sold in trenches at N1.90 to N1.97. I still made some heavy profit though. looking back, I have a mixed feeling of Joy and some bit of regret. This market can make one some great profit when ur in the know. |
