Yayira: A well said, but reverse is the case, election bear will not allow it, 2019 general election campaign will start on November 18 next month. It will come with high tension, the building up has scared the foreign portfolio investors out, and the remaining foreign portfolio investors will start bailing out immediately after this q3 result , the ruling party are seriously having great challenge after their primary, most of APC strongholds state are in deep problem with their National chairman/executive, the likes of Zamfara, Ogun, Imo, are still struggling out with their national chairman, then Rivers, Adamawa, and so many others state are in great dispute. After this q3 result, the q4 result been the final year result will start coming out by February with most companies releasing theirs towards end of March, that is 90 days from December ending. Which is long after election. February will be a good time to take position, bonanza must surely come. |

Bishopking:Watch and see. There are abundant food in NSE, even if Fide fly, it will still come back during bonanza period. ASI by then will drop to sub 30,000. Many will still join their vehicle them. Our next vice president is a stake holder in Fide, his participation in the next year election will bring down Fide to bonanza group. 1 Like |

Jerekre: Well you are right, it's the use of the registers; discount cannot be up to 100% as long as the price is positive For fidelity example, discount is (fairprice - currentprice)/fairprice = (6-2)/6 = 4/6 = 67% Discount here relative to the assumed fairprice is 67% Price appreciation or gain however, can be more than a 100% 4 Likes |

Thank you o. Discount from a certain price cannot be more than 100%. A discount of 100% brings the price to zero. Agbalowomeri: 3 Likes |

currentprice:We compared q3 2017 with q3 2018, on that ground they maintained a better result in q3 2018. As election year draw nearer they will get pay for their ongoing project with more contract award from both state and Federal government. Their 2018 final quarter will be far better when compared with 2017. If the incoming government that will take over from the incumbent government come 2019 favour them, their ride will commence and continue immediately after the bonanza period. 2 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 9:01am On Oct 26, 2018 |
currentprice: Yes NOT fantastic, but JULIUS BERGER'S Q3 is undoubtedly a good result. The problem is that u sometimes choose to look at a particular earnings line in isolation without a proper recourse to other core underlying determinants. In retrospect, the EPS line alone is important, but it will not tell u the whole story. Its best to look at all the combination of drivers of profitability, liquidity, efficiency and solvency accross all KEY revenue and earnings line. The company has done well given where they are coming from. Earnings drive has gapped up (both QoQ & over 9M) and is very much in line to beat that of the proceeding yr. (YoY) The N5.04 EPS is the TTM figure [(3.61-0.04) + 1.47], but that projection is feasible. How? ...Look at the PROFIT MARGIN, GROSS MARGIN, EBITDA MARGIN, and ETERPRISE VALUE. Even at an adjusted discount figure of 15% (attaching a 13% risk free rate to a premium of 2%), Fair Value should compute as approx N34. ...which means there's a potential value gap to tap from. However, while their result is good, there are much better companies on the bourse right now. ...there are better value and growth driven coys that one can BUY !! But the result from JBERGER came in good. It's left for folks to decide on what they want. Everything depends on one's personality, strategy and investment horizon. On the part in bold, u also need to apply the same backward analytical view on ACCESS to make a better judgement. (don't get me wrong; ACCESS like I've stated here in the past is a great coy) ...I only advised for caution going forward. (particularly for long term investors) That said, I respect ur opinion like I do with that of other folks here. Disclosure: I currently do NOT hold a single unit in JBERGER. Disclaimer: Due diligence is still advised as always pls. 1 Like 1 Share |

onegentleguy: thatz your opinion anyway and you are entitle to it. do u know fairprice of julius barger at Q3 last year? less than N10. posting my fairprice without long sweet words around it doesn't mean i use EPS alone, i know how far i go before arriving at my figures. EPS is one out of many metrics i use to arrive at my fairprice and it has being working nicely for me. if i have less than N10 fairprice for last year Q3 and N25 at current Q then i have confident on my metrics. i repeat again, we dont get award for being right here rather to catch fun 5 Likes |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 9:30am On Oct 26, 2018 |
onegentleguy: I don't think CP is talking about TTM, I think he is just being conservative by using only profit from core operation which is N3.4b hence his EPs of N2.7. Like I said, a fair result in my own opinion but I will like them to improve on the profits from core operation. Note , I hold some units of JB and it is still a hold for me. 2 Likes |

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 25 OCTOBER 2018 MSCI Nigeria portfolio, still no action. The heavy volume in the major bank stocks may not end in time if the foreign investors are trying to get out. Some of them are quite heavy in some equities. Example is FCMB, the foreign holdings as at 30 Sept 2018 is as shown below (the holdings are updated once every month in most websites, except for on the actual website of the find/institution) see: http://investors.morningstar.com/ownership/shareholders-major.html?t=FCMB®ion=nga&culture=en-US&ownerCountry=USA There is the probability that the market makers will have to find a way of handling these heavy volumes in such a way that it will not depress the prices too quick. This will be equally applicable to other equities with substantial foreign interest. Implication of this is “let us lower down our expectation of high prices within this period” we cannot fight the tide of the market. The punch from the bulls yesterday was feeble as usual. Let us what the bears will reply with. For today expected High is 32,611.47 low at 32,438.03 In view of the fact that some additional information on our postings will now be added, you can check our twitter handle “Target Technical Analysis”. Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan). N:B 1. Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months. 2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market. 3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding. 4. If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts), you will see the various sources where the data can be verified. 1 Like
