UACN Property Development Company Plc (“UPDC” or the “Company”) has concluded arrangements to raise N=15.96 Billion via a Rights Issue (the “Rights Issue” or “Transaction”), to repay its short-term debt obligations and significantly reduce leverage. The Transaction is part of UPDC’s broader strategy to create long term shareholder value by recapitalising and repositioning the Company.

Shares in UPDC will be offered to existing shareholders whose names appeared in the register of members of the Company as at 30 September 2019 (the “Qualification Date”) in line with the Rules and Regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission. The allotment will be on the basis of 43 new ordinary shares for every 7 ordinary shares held, at a price of N=1.00 per share.

For the fact that the QUALIFICATION DATE was shifted back to 30th Sept 2019.

That simply tells you the NEEDED FUND is in place and all they have been waiting for is the regulators approval to formalise the RIGHT ISSUE in order for the UPDC & UPDC REITS UNBUNDLING to take place.

The info beneath dispicts the SHAREHOLDING STRUCTURE of UPDC

ASI has broken its support, brace for impact! I believe though that impact would be more on high CAP stocks like MTNN, DangCEM, NESTLE, STANBIC, etc. Anyways, time would tell, just my opinion. NSE surprises daily!

NSE to Change Name Soon, as it Plans to Complete its Demutualisation Process.
The exchange recently in an email message to members, stated it would be holding an Extraordinary General Meeting with members of its council to hold a vote for the demutualisation of the bourse and then after, will list on its exchange.
However, this is part of the demutualisation process which President Buhari signed in 2018.
The demutualisation process would also see the company change its name from the Nigeria Stock Exchange to “Nigeria Stock Exchange PLC“. Members of the exchange are scheduled to vote on March 3rd to convert from a member-owned mutual organization into a public limited-liability company.

Hmmm...that result has at least another two weeks to spend in CBN starting from tomorrow. That's the minimum. Early March is a more realistic date.
