Valueinvestor: Contrarian approach. If you see the rate at which they are buying Schweppes Tonic all around the world eh.... You go fear. Because they read it has Quinine. So instead of swallow chloroquine, they drink Schweppes Tonic. Now I can't make my gin-tonic because there is no tonic. I'm just stuck with my gin. Soon dem go start with Orijin, Stout because e bitter like quinine In all these covid 19 issues, all I just focus on is which company is making the money and you buy their stocks low. Expect extraordinary sales from food processors. People who go to shelves to buy food don't look at brand names anymore. They grab what they see. 12 Likes |

RabbiDoracle:I can't agree less, you've got a full grasp on global economies and your knowledge on general global outlook is unparalleled. As for food na anything we see we dey chop o , but for stocks there are many shoes on the shelve, but we only wear the one that fits 5 Likes |

In this business, sense is required. Know that no expert knows it all. Everyone is gambling at different levels. A lot of self appointed experts however use jargons to make themselves appear knowledgeable. Only you can work your salvation in this business. 4 Likes 1 Share |

OBAGADAFFI: Food, drinks, banks, FMCG, Telecos. People will drown themselves in beer highness to reduce coro panic. You must eat and stock up anything. So more sales for the food companies. Same with FMCG that a member mentioned here. You must keep lots of toothpaste, soap, cleaning substances. While others are not making it, these companies will make it. And above all, you need to be swiping in stores to buy things. So you must spend the one you have in thd bank. Banks are still in business in this time. 2 Likes |

RabbiDoracle: For loans in the banks, the banks will only restructure the loans to their customers in they can prove that their businesses were affected by covid 19. |

RabbiDoracle: I am only positive about telecoms and banks in Nigeria. The breweries will feel the impact of forex shortage, reduced sales and contracting margin as what people are consuming now are mostly products from small players who are not listed. For foods, producers of noodles will benefit greatly and my top pick here is indomie if the company is listed. 1 Like |

pluto09: Brewery industry is in double distress. It has been suffering since the inception of PMB administration, now Covid19, almost all premium lounges and clubs are shut all over the country. Some brewery plants are temporarily shut without any production plan in April. Q2 2020 will be hellish for this industry. Besides, I am not sure its advisable to invest in this industry until after this administration. If the next will not also be cruel on the industry. 1 Like |

maishai:It's possible the effect of all these wouldn't even reflect in Q1 but in Q2, that's if the situation persists. Companies do have a way of generating revenues, especially banks irrespective of economic conditions. Don't be surprised if banks release good Q1 results cos of the highlighted factors self. People stayed at home and are spending, even more than when they're going out. Banks didn't shut down, they only reduce physical activities. The telecoms biz were/are booming too. Anyway, we'll see how it goes.... 1 Like |

Some odd things were out of stocks People learnt that cologne disinfects the hand against covid 19, dem also buy hot drinks to disinfect the throat Brewers may have hedged that risk knowing that they faced one in 2014 to 2016. |
