Good people of this thread I greet you all.

What is happening with First bank and 2023 dividends please?
This is June 2 and we have not heard anything from First bank.
This is worrying cos it is looking like they are having some serious issues.
I'll appreciate your input about this. Thanks

UBA Market Structure Demonstrates Promising Prospects for Investors

The prevailing structure of the UBA market exudes robust bullish tendencies. As evident on the monthly chart, the price trend is consistently making higher-highs and higher-lows. The 8.65 level has established itself as a strong level, historically acting as a formidable resistance level and on a one occasion, as a support level.

After the high in January 2018, there has been a price retracement, and all subsequent five or more attempts to rally beyond 8.65 have invariably faced substantial resistance, consequently driving the price beneath this level. However, a shift was observed in the preceding month of May 2023, when UBA's price not only breached this persistent level but also managed to close at a higher-high - an event not witnessed in the past five years!

In light of the recent price pullback mirroring the pattern from July 2017, the key question arises: Is UBA's share price primed for a vigorous rally, either with price resistance at 8.65 or a deeper correction to below 7.75? cool

Total is not moving correspondingly based on the volume available to move it up. But it is just a matter of time, it will eventually go up.

Disclosure. Yours truly has Total, Eterna and Oando in portfolio. This corruption will not leave me behind.
We don't know the forces/factors holding Total down, it has been struggling for a long time despite the good results and positive news.
Even during the SEPLAT time, it refused to shake body.
Wonder what the likely issue is......but if my ogas said it's a matter of time, then we keep hoping.

For AIRTEL, there will be some "IF's" wink

1. IF June ends below 1272, then price is likely going further down. But as the market is dynamic, price might create a "dummy" rally (as the tick line indicate) towards 1700, thereby forming a double top before the final fall.

2. IF June ends above 1272, then, that will indicate that AIRTEL decline will be around the current price and it will be looking for new support level.

At the moment, the coast is not clear yet, but long term investors should be happy to continue to accumulate especially if price "mistakenly" touch 930.

I will add that there is a clear divergence on the weekly chart.

Price appears to be heading north.

I sold out 5m units this afternoon as a result of fear only to see it up again.Anyway I still have almost triple of the quantity I sold.

For those waiting on further bullish action. I suspect FPI's have taken a pause to get clarity on exchange rates especially those that currently have FX and not naira to deploy to the market at this moment. Seems LPI's have deployed their funds already or taking a pause too, assessing stuff.

This pause may be a good time to do dd and do some further picks if one has spare funds.

JAPAUL is still in Oil and Gas na.
It's not been fully involved in the mining area I think.
It's JAPAUL Gold & Ventures......and the dredging activities has mainly been contributing to the profitability of the coy.
Don't we think they'll also benefit either directly or indirectly from the Oil and Gas windfall?
I think the main issue identified with JP is management issue.
Pls more opinions also needed.

Q1 below...

I didn't see any income from oil and gas.
Maybe the offshore business and renting of vessels will favour them now.
Pls dig more of this and post.selling pressure is on me now if things are not in place.

On oil priced in $s, I think prices will remain flat or trend up in $s as long as there are no new step changes in alternatives for powering automobiles. Like the Sodium battery being developed by a Chinese firm succeeding in upstaging Lithium batteries with far cheaper prices coupled with other source of power breakthroughs outside fossil fuels.

Sodium shares some similarities with its brother Lithium in the period table. And is more abundant but currently delivers lower power rates, but the Chinese firm is researching aggressively and has reached a stage that its $10,000 EV cars have already started selling. And it's still not relenting in research.

From time, I don't think JAPAUL has been involved directly in oil business but renders services to oil coys or so.
The dredging biz has been the major source of income together with offshore services.
Needs to update myself on its operations again. smiley
Will try and check.....you too can check.

** Sometimes ago, there was hope for the gold mining but we didn't hear anything thereafter again....
Buhari Govt wasn't serious at all. Doesn't take them anything to take the Gold mining serious but they prefer to steal what's already on ground and allow the Chinese to mine the mineral resources and carry the funds/proceeds away to develop their country.
Lol.
