When I started with Trove I asked for an individualized NGX trading account, supplied my existing Chn and they sent me forms to fill for an NGX trading account. Technically opening a trading account with Sigma Securities who thaye are in partnership with. So every stock I buy on Trove is in directly owned and tied to my Chn. The account was opened with the supplied Chn and I got a CSCS no for it. This is the way I trade NGX on Trove. I will recommend that to anyone trading NGX with Trove along with their US trading offer. Olaide1295: |

I know some of you are abroad. How do you fund your Nigerian bank account in naira for the purpose of stock investing? I assume that once I have funds in my Nigerian account, funding my stockbroker can easily be done from anywhere. ![]() |

ositadima1:There are many apps that pay directly to your naira bank account at exchange rates that are even higher than the black market rates. World remit, Flutterwave etc. Your account is credited immediately. Dollar accounts have become obsolate since tinubu took over. 5 Likes 1 Share |

https://nairametrics.com/2023/07/05/strong-performance-and-forecasts-for-mrs-oil-nigeria-plcs-share-price/ MRS Oil Nigeria PLC has shown a strong performance with its share price rally and recently impressive financial indicators. The company achieved a new 52-week high, with a share price increase of 457.25% over the past 52 weeks (about 12 months) and a YtD gain of 460%, outperforming both the NGX’s YtD gain of 18.96% and the Oil and Gas sector companies’ average YtD return of 78.56% at the end of H1 2023. This suggests that the rally in MRS Oil’s share price is backed by its recent strong fundamentals and has garnered investor confidence. In contrast, FTNCocoa Processor, which recorded the highest H1 YtD share price gain, does not seem to have strong earnings backing the rally. The company reduced its loss after taxation in 2022 to N421 million but still reported a loss of N89.75 million in Q1 2023. This highlights the importance of analyzing a company’s financial performance and fundamentals to assess the sustainability of a share price rally. Looking at MRS Oil Nigeria PLC’s recent financials, the company has demonstrated strong fundamental growth. It reported year-on-year revenue growth of 40.02% in the 2022 financial year and a significant improvement in net income, indicating positive performance. |

I have a question for everyone here. Are we really investing or speculating? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Phlinx: 8:10pm On Oct 09, 2023 |
DrAwo: Thank you for advising on a book that offers strategy on how to invest in stocks that increase in value. However, it hardly answers the simple question: what makes a stock significantly rise on the NSE? 2 Likes |

jclassiq:Who are the WE if I may ask? That question is uncalled for. This is just like asking people who goes to the supermarket if they have all come to buy rice and noodles. Try and be more specific about what you want people to respond to. Moving forward, there is a great difference between investing, trading and speculating in stocks. You can simply google it to know the differences between them. |

Phlinx:We have more than 100 stocks in the NSE. So, no simple reason can be adduced for all stocks, alternatively, you can give us the simple reason if you have it, afterall, we are all learning. But then, the reason for the movement of one may not be the reason for the movement of the others. Recent Examples: 1. UBA has been moving upward of recent on the back of the release of good earnings, mainly due to government floatation of the naira. 2. Oando recently delivered 200% capital appreciation based on speculation. Likewise, Dangote Sugar and NASCON because nobody knows the actual price that Dangote foods will eventually be listed. 3. Eternal and other oil companies once rallied and gave more than 200% capital appreciation based on new government policy on subsidy. 4. GSK and PZ has delivered more than 100% capital appreciation based on the price for delisting from the market. 5. Power tussle for the soul of transcorp between Elumelu and Otedola move the price from 100k to 400k. The list is endless.
