defebe: Not exactly right. I requested for a individual account before I begin trading local stocks with them. So I have my Sigma Securities CSCS number after filling relevant forms and waiting it out which I asked to be tied to my CHN used with other brockers. Some times more details and options are available when one takes time and effort to get at it. 2 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 8:28am On Jan 17 |
faoogoke: Really. But Lagos State is the owner of Ibile Holdings with substantial holdings in some listed companies. Odua Investment used to be a major core shareholder in most of the listed companies, with representatives on the board, unfortunately subsequent military leaders and politicians sold the shares The former Premier of Western Nigeria, converted the value of the lands given to businesses at Ikeja industrial estate, Ilupeju industrial estate, Apapa Industrial estate to equities. Unfortunately most of the manufacturers at Apapa have relocated to Agbara Estate 1 Like |

I am begining to think that with time, the focus of investor on NSE will shift from % return in dividends to capital appreciation. It is clear to us all that stocks like Transcorp hotel may never pay as much dividend as to justify their current price(so too may other stocks) yet billions keep getting into them and the market. Surely, not all the money that has entered this market can leave by dividend period this year. Alot will remain, and alot will still enter. Tinubu's government has only done less than a year and many believe his govt will favor NSE. We will just watch and see how investors react in the coming months. Surely, new lessons and new theories will emerge. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Mpeace: Payback is a major concept used by Private Equity Investment firm. They usually look at a payback about 8 years. That is the total summation of cash flow or earnings it can generate. Meaning a business that can grow its earning by 100% for the next 8 years can sell for a PE of 250. But better to give a margin of safety. Ask those who bought Tesla at a PE of 500 few years ago 1+2+4+8+16+32+64+128 1 Like 1 Share |

emmanuelewumi: Thanks for the explanation. If I get a government bond, can't I use it to get a loan as collateral? Or is it only eurobond that can be used as collateral? Also, can I use the collateral to get a loan from united capital even if they are not my broker? |
