thebargainhunte:On point. Cuz with the buzz of to-be-listed Aradel, pending acquisitions, rumours of more IOC diversification and subsequent acquisitions by indigenous firms, movement spree of classmate O&O, current trends surrounding crude availability & Dang Refinery, etc ..... There nothing stopping it having a strong sentimental-contagion effect; driving it to at least 6-7k, if more traders and even some investors were given the muzzle power far less than 100k.š unlike NASD.. Meaning price is dictated by the books: -If share price go down significantly means the books are down -if share price go up significantly means the books are up. No inbetweens |

Sunrisepebble: I believe it was a reaction to events leading up to and after 2008 financial crisis. The market rallied so fast just before 2008 that many people rushed in with all their money and were crushed when the market tanked just as fast. The ease of price movements was identified as one of the factors, and so the threshold was raised. 2 Likes 1 Share |

designking: Are u talking about a stock that has gained over 23% this month?. I hope you do not expect a stock to keep rising without profit taking. From 28k and now 37k doesn't look like a drop to me. If you mean the past few days, say the past 1 week, it has been between 34k and 37k and it closed yesterday at the highest price for the day Pls check well 1 Like

sky2891:I think positive: Reason. I think: 1)The profitability of fbnquest is just about 5% of FBNH, so less impact on their financials.(nairametrics) 2) Depending on the acquisition figure, they would require less capital requirements when they come to NGX floor, which may be easily subscribed too especially given that most banks already on Right issue and public offer now will already be out of the market by then. 3)less capital requirement means less dilution of Shareholders fund.. Just thinking... 1 Like |

NSEstudent: Lol, it is of no use to you. You'd better keep to collecting picks or what Streetinvestor calls the sheep crowd. If it was in your nature, you would have started doing it already. It is not easy and requires a lot of boring work and dedication. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by NSEstudent: 10:31am On Sep 07 |
ositadima1: Well, I am not particularly a novice. When I entered UAC on BBM's call, I had to review his charts too. I learnt to interpret candlesticks from Steve Nison's "Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques". But it never hurts to pick one's superiors' brains and thought processes on some of these things. Oga CP is good and yea, I would like to learn from him. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 11:39am On Sep 07 |
designking: Remember Oando was stagnant for some years before it started to rise. If you can invest and wait for some time like Oando did, then consider International Breweries. It is also experiencing some difficulty and undergoing some restructuring. The turnaround time may come sooner or later. It was selling at N45 few years ago but now selling at around N4. Someody also mentioned Unity Bank which is selling at N1.5 and under technical suspension. Honeywell Flour Mills is another case . Its parent company (Flour Mills) is currently restructuring the company. Once this is completed, synergy and cost efficiency will lead to better performance and higher value. 7 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 12:52pm On Sep 07 |
zendi: To my understanding, the Oando court case coming up in October is between the 14 minority shareholders who went to court to ask for Oando to buy out their shares. The Court has varied it's easier order dated June 2022: so only those 14 minority shareholders will have their shares bought back if they still want to sell to Oando at N7.07 per share. . Other minority shareholders are not affected and their shares are intact. Some 5 minority shareholders went to court to challenge the 14 shareholders and the court gave judgement in favour of the 5 shareholders, saying that all minority shareholders cannot be forced to sell their shares. As it stands right now, Oando is not delisting. If the 14 shares sell their shares, Oando will buy them back but will still be listed because the company did not initiate the idea to delist its shares, it only had to respond to the case brought by the 14 shareholders . And that case has been technically shut down by the court. The case coming up in October is just for formality. It is already dead case. 2 Likes |
