To be a gentleman is the most stupid thing to do in nigeria .Na another name for mugu
This has been my problem with Fubara, GEj and obi. This is why they stand to loose out in nigeria politics.
And this will likely make me not to work and vote obi in the next election .For atiku he wants Presidency but he is not really ready to sacrifice his comfort zone.
The kingdom of God sufferet violence. And the violent taketh it by force. All die na die
Fubara some of those yeye 27 people suppose dey give testimonies long ago for the Lord choosen and not even thinking of impeachment. You allow the matter over drag because you want to be gentleman. Now dey don run you street, remove you to steal rivers money for the next 6 month vai unconstitutional means, lol

I like 66 million ways to die. how a narrowly escape one as testimonies

That is not entirely correct. Avoid using the word "we." Dangote Refinery produces many byproducts. If I am correct, it is situated in a free zone, meaning Nigeria will not benefit significantly from taxation. Taxation itself is a sensitive topic, as one could argue that much of it is mismanaged or embezzled.

The primary benefit is the use of naira for both crude oil and refined products, reducing dependence on foreign exchange and driving prices down. But the situation has changed—you (Marketers) now need to source dollars as before. And where do these dollars come from? Your guess is as good as mine—Nigeria’s foreign reserves.

Most of the foreign exchange revenue generated by Dangote will likely go toward cost recovery in the next few years. I also heard that Dangote plans to list on the London Stock Exchange, which means more forex will flow out in the long run. It makes no sense that a resource available in abundance locally is still being sold in foreign currency.

shocked shocked shocked

One wonders why nnpc and the authorities don't want to seriously support DR to the max!
Imagine how many people in the population that are directly/indirectly engaged economically and pay taxes as well!!

Trust me ,all these back and forth na because them no allow ALH to game the system.
typically when you import something with dollar ,you sell it to the local market in naira and still make your profit.
Chinedu import computer in dollars ,will you now say chinedu should sell his computers to local users in dollar ?
Baba is doing all these because he's becoming too big for the goverment to manage and that along na risk to the country.

Can you explain the game pls.Chinedu has no alternative than to sell in naira but would have preferred to sell in dollars. Alhaj has the alternative to sell in dollars outside naija The government even says it is an offence to sell in dollars in the country. Why is the government
selling in dollars in nigeria. .Is the government ready to provide dollars for Alhaji for his dollar obligations anytime he needs it or you want him to visit black market

People should start watching the market closely. Some stocks are close to their bottom. Some banks are below their 200 dma, or almost there. Good timing will help greatly.

I think Unity Bank and Mutual Benefits should be watched closely as the suspension on both may be lifted soon.

This doesn’t correlate with Dangote though. Dangote is a producer and his raw material is in dollars. The marketers who buy in dollars are the ones who fits perfectly to your analogy. Those marketers cannot sell to retailers in dollars but naira.

The way I understand it,
Not necessarily buy in dollars and sell in dollars per se.

But DR wants to now sell in Naira (but Real Dollar-Equivalent) what he buys in dollars.
(Accounts for Major quantity of DR raw-crude by over 50%).

As against the current buying in dollars and selling in Naira
(Dollar-discounted equivalent) courtesy of NNPC Naira-crude Deal.
(accounts for minor quantity of DR raw-crude by less than 35%)

On the Chinedu analogy grin
If "Chinedu" is in a Free Trade Zone(FTZ) he can also sell in dollars..
So "Chinedu" should probably better build a spot in the new potential ogun state FTZ grin now space is available cuz ALH is already there to build sea port so "Chinedu" can also sell his computers in $$💵.
It's called business opportunity not gaming the system.

Technically, they are now rivals since they both own refineries. Before now NNPC PLC was more or less a regulator and probably could have done what you are suggesting if they had remained that way.

Also, I am not sure where people got the news that DR will no longer sell PMS to Nigeria again, my understanding of it is that without the direct Crude to Naira swap, he will start factoring in the price with which he gets his fuel from whatever source and use that to fix his price.

Thank God that Fubara is not a woman. If not, by now he would have accused Nyesom Wike of Sexual Harassment, and even gone to United Nations to report that he was suspended from being Governor of Rivers State, because he accused Nyesom Wike of Sexual Harassment.

A bank borrowing at 21% as per the most recent commercial paper doesn’t look good to me, and I believe many investors would share the same sentiment. Returns would go to debt holders rather than shareholders. Comparing this to the dividend yield makes it look worse.

Trump again 😆

“The recent U.S. sanctions targeting Iran's oil industry have contributed to a notable increase in Brent crude oil prices. On March 20, 2025, the United States imposed sanctions on individuals and entities involved in purchasing and processing Iranian crude oil, including the Chinese refinery Shandong Shouguang Luqing Petrochemical Co., Ltd.
Reuters

In response, Brent crude futures rose by over $1, reflecting market concerns about potential disruptions in oil supply due to heightened geopolitical tensions.

This development underscores the sensitivity of global oil markets to geopolitical events, particularly those affecting major oil-producing nations like Iran. Traders and analysts will likely monitor the situation closely, as further escalations could lead to additional volatility in oil prices”
