If you are using a custom ROM like cyanogenmod you can reboot into download mode. Or better still get a copy of ADB and use command line to reboot your phone to download mode

How did u loose the imei? Tweaking? From personal experience on S3,the phone never remains the same even if u successfully write the imei back. I've got a reliable guy who does this stuff at otigba but no guarantees

tell me ur experience cos same thing happened to my s3 way back when the imei was tweaked... as the fone started misbehaving... it didn't reach 3months before it got packed off "doesn't come up".. Cudnt even flashed it..
Then required from the guy who tweaked... he claimed it wasn't from the tweaking n all dat..
kinda believed cos he tweaked my Samsung tab and it works normal upto date.

I don't even know how it happens, all I knw is I flash lollipop to it using Odin around March cos I got it around Feb 14(u.k used tho) and it all started around July. Initially it use to fluctuate til it doesn't recognise any sim atal again.

I'm a DIY person and will only seek help if I've tried all I can. So I got this S3 4G LTE directly from someone in d UK. Tried unlocking it myself and ended up deleting my EFS from one of those secret Samsung menu. Took th phone to otigba and had it unlocked and the EFS rewritten with the same imei. Lo, the phone could detect small network in an upstairs building with clear space. Downstairs or inside house the phone was useless like a stone. After several research, it turned out that rewriting the imei is not foolproof. The phone is now a backup for wifi use only although I've been able to find a work around that makes the phone detect network while inside. The work around is not fool proof though

If your own doesn't recognise SIM then that's really bad. I need to be sure the problem you have is that it cannot detect network and not that it cannot recognise SIM.

If you have the original imei you can get it rewritten by those technicians (I refuse to call them engineers) at otigba. If u want a referral pm me. There also some dude on this thread that fixes these issues. He says he's somewhere in Isolo I think

Pull d battery. There should be a label underneath (on the phone I mean). The imei is written there

Hi Techs, i successful rooted my samsung galaxy note 10.1 gt- n8000 and also changed the imei to that of my bricked bold 5 using "xposed installer and imei changer" . dialing *#06# shows it has changed. when i inserted my glo sim inside, the welcome msg i got was "welcome, your samsung note gt- n8000 can receive the internet configuration ......" i ignored that and changed my access point to "blackberry.net" but its not connecting. pls help a brother. thanks in advances.
