I Use a 2004 Toyota Sienna with 150000 miles on it. I service the van with Mobile 1 0w - 40 fully synthetic engine oil. The recommended engine oil for the van by the vehicle manufacturer is 5w - 30 oil. At the time I did my first oil change, I could not find this particular recommended oil grade in Abuja. Therefore, I have been using mobile 1 oil. But I just saw the oil (5w -30) recently at a shop here in Abuja & intend to revert to this at my next due service interval (4500 miles) .

Kindly advise dwelling on the effect on the engine if any.

Thank you.

None, from my experience u may notice a slight increase in the time it takes ur engine to rev. My honda likes to rev, it begs to be driven hard, when ever I do an oil change that involves 0w -30 to 5w 30 or 20 I notice better rev times. But mine is a Honda.
