Facebook on IE10. Notice Internet Explorer app takes up the full screen. Right click to pull up and pull down bars. toolbars, settings bars, mars bars.

In Windows 8, you don't close apps. At least Metro apps. When you exit an app, it gets hibernated. Taking up little or no RAM and Processor resource; and when you open the app again, it resumes from where it stopped. Neat, eh?
_
But for the sake of sake, to close an app, Metro or legacy, hover your mouse pointer at the top edge of the screen. It'll change into a hand with which you'll then drag the window all the way down to the bottom edge of the screen to close the app. On touch devices, simply swipe from the top edge to the bottom edge of the screen.

This stuff has messed up my touchpad. PLEASE, IF YOU'VE GOT AN ALPS TOUCHPAD, DON'T UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 8.
My touchpad freezes and jerks all over the screen. I've downloaded different drivers all to no avail.
I've got one last idea, if that doesn't work I'll clone my hard drive, fling away this lappy and get a new one with Synaptics touchpad.
