Rochas Okorocha, Anyanwu Trade Words Over Convoy Clash by diutor: 9:15am On Dec 28, 2012 |
Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha and Senator Chris Anyanwu have given divergent versions of a fracas involving their convoys at Azaraegbelu, Owerri North in Imo State on Wednesday. Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, on Thursday, Anyanwu, who represents Imo East Senatorial District, said she had visited Okorocha earlier in the day to felicitate with him on the up-coming wedding of his daughter. Thereafter, the Senator said she proceeded to Mbaise for a function and was on her way back when she noticed, “an intimidating convoy bearing down on her convoy with full compliments of security operatives, conventional and non-conventional”. Anyanwu, a former broadcaster, said it was about 5.30pm and she had directed her convoy to veer off the road and stop for the governor’s convoy to pass, but to her surprise, the governor’s security men stopped and blocked her convoy, dragged out the driver of her pilot vehicle and beat him to pulps. She added, “The unwarranted beating and assault on my convoy compelled me to alight from my vehicle and even at that, the assault continued. “They had dragged my driver into the bush to shoot him when I started shouting that their action was ungodly and barbaric. To my utter shock, Okorocha was watching the entire episode complacently and had even shouted orders to his men saying ‘disarm her security’.” The Senator described the assault on her convoy as “a misplaced show of power.” But, the governor’s Special Assistant on Media, Ebere Uzoukwa, dismissed Anyanwu’s claims as false, saying Okorocha escaped death when the Senator’s convoy rammed into his convoy. Uzoukwa said the Senator after breaching the governor’s convoy, alighted from her vehicle and ordered her Naval security personnel to open fire. He said, “The Senator further went berserk and descended on the security men slapping both the governor’s Aide-de-Camp and Chief Detail. She also rained abuses on the governor as well as calling him unprintable names. “However, it is interesting to mention that the governor’s security men exhibited decency, professionalism and maturity as they never fell into the temptation of mahandling anyone in the Senator’s convoy irrespective of her unruly attitude and that of the Naval ratings in her convoy.” The statement added, “Recall that His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha recently banned the use of siren by unauthorised persons in the state as part of stringent security measures to fight crime. This calls to question why a serving senator, who obviously is not authorised to use siren, has chosen the part of dishonour, lawlessness as well as refusing totally to subject herself to constituted authority.” http://martinuwakwe..com/2012/12/rochas-okorocha-anyanwu-trade-words.html |

Is this a joke? I sincerely think that something is wrong with Rochas and his security details considering the fact that they have been involved in too many confrontations with other security details of prominent people. Rochas pls get a grip on yourself. |

....After listening to both parties, consulting with the Oracle and listening to character witnesses for both parties, I have come to the following conclusion; 1. The Anyanwu womans story is more plausible.. 2. Rochas has behaved like this in the past, even in Anambra state.. 3. Anyanwu a civilian cannot dare raise her hands and slap the face of a Military man let alone the ADC of the governor.. 4. If the Anyanwu woman had indeed given orders to her 'NAVAL' escorts to open fire on the governors convoy, then both the Anyanwu lady and all in her entourage wil be dead as Okorochas convoy will be well within their right according to the rules of engagement to neutralize all threats.. 5. Rochas is still a person.. SUMMARY: What most likely happened was that Okorochas convoy and the Anyanwu ladies convoy must have had a show down on the road with both parties blowing sirens and driving like iidiots (endangering the lives of ordinary Nigerian), in the process, an accident of some degree must have happened with prompted the Governors convoy (which will definitely outnumber hers 5 cars to one at the minimum) to double-cross hers and start brutallizing her guards.. I am sure Okorocha must have given the orders for his security detail to disarm her guards, which I am sure that if they were indeed Naval officers would not have happened that easy. Rochas is a power drunk juvenile delinquent married to a 70,000 litres barge of a wife.. case closed.. 3 Likes |

Terrible set of pple:Okorocha is clearly, day in day out, turning out to be a great disappointment;from his ill thought out policies to appease sentiments while putting d future of d state in ruins to his public, annoying show of power to all who come across him,he reminds me of somebody who may av bn over rated beyond his capabilities.(2)It shows how laughable we are in dis country dat an ordinary senator not just has a convoy, but a convoy made of naval personel!Nobody seems to c d aberration in a senator having a convoy of military men;next a councillor will also av one. This is a case of 2 personalities more concerned wt their egos dan wt any strong desire to correct any abnormality in each other's position& behaviour as a public official;both shd fight their battles because power in nigeria much as it intoxicates while in office has clearly been shown to be without power& influence when out of office |

with the level of insecurity and kidnapping saga in the state, some people are still using siren...no one is above the law and should be dealt rightly Though I still don't believe all this stories, some parts are twisted. |

I believe the senator. These governor's aide once had confrontation with peter obi's aides. His aides also once beat one of his security details to unconsciousness for delaying in opening gate and his media aide also denied it. Now his overzealous aides has been accused of harassing a senator's aide again while the governor watches on, so I am inclined to believe her. I think this is the man's only weakness, he indulges his overzealous aides and easily get power drunk. |
