I find it a tad insufferable what the media portrays as the ideal physique. They want us to believe that slimness is the last word in attractiveness. I humbly want to state that there are exceptions of which I'm one. It would be disingenous of me to say that I don't like slim women but I seriously prefer fat (or as they say chubby) ones to the slim ones. So I'm sick and tired of this media hokum and phoney tripe. 2 Likes |

Fat women have really been disadvantaged especially here in Africa considering the fact that plum women used to be the delight of men back in the days. We're just following the white culture which has infiltrated our lives. 1 Like |

Which fat women are disadvantaged? These days I read some stories on line and all I see is 'thick' 'bodied' 'soft' women, being the heroines, then some beechy, 'skinny' girl is the villain, then there are synonyms like 'stick' 'bony' 'flat' Trust me, no one is dissing fat people, cos everytime I read a story, I definitely don't feel better about myself. Even Westerners that we claim to be copying are now talking bout girls with the assss and booooobs to ensure World Peace. |

I was about to say the same darn thing safarigirl!! I caught myself saying 2 days ago that being skinny only looks good on white girls. I had a thought and realized how sick that statement was and how I allowed the society get to my head on that. I think in the black community thick girls are praised and skinny girls are asked to eat more chicken in a mockery fashion. The media praises women that are considered thick with the big/dumb booty and make skinny girls feel odd. I think skinny girls are the ones being abused and condemned by the media and society today E.g: Kim Kardashian, J LO, beyonce types are what is considered hot of recent, enough of pitying the fat girls. Atleast only slim girls are still seen on the catwalk of major labels on fashion week in Milan, Paris, London and Newyork.. Fat girls have been trying to fight back but its not been easy.. It's all about individual choice. I have nothing against the larger women, or the slimmer ones, what's most important is how they feel about themselves; if they're happy with themselves, then what the world and his wife think shouldn't matter. My preference though is slim ladies. |
