kennytidistar: [Symphony007]As anti-fashola as i am, i don't see anything wrong in averting disaster and saving lives. My only concern is the "relocation" of the residence. Why are you concerned about their relocation? Its the job of Govt to do so & they are up to the task. Am not aware of any legitimately displaced people in Lagos state that have not bn adequately relocated. Why have people lost trust in this present administration? list out what they have promised you and betrayed you and other residents of LAgos state about? |

Poverty n ignorance have made us have little regard for our lives.you'll notice the pdp/gej guys have nothing to say to this, it is because the right thing has been done. Whoever hates fashola has no consciencezm he's not perfect but before you condemn him, commend the things he has done right |

Guk:exactly, houses are being demolished along lagos-badagry road, legitimate owners are being compensated. By law, makoko residents don't deserve compensation because they are not legitimate dwellers, they are illegal settlers who have become a nuisance. It is like coming to my house to settle unannounced, years laters I decide to send you packing and then you ask me to give you another house since I'm sending you away....hell no! ! ! 1 Like |

Tawa89:That means Jakande built substandard houses? A minus to baba kekere's administration. They should pack out and sue Lagos state government for selling poorly constructed houses to them and for endangering their lives I think we should learn how to show appreciation whenever there is need to do so. For you to condemn the kind gesture of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the then Governor of Lagos State, is highly uncalled for. Have you forgotten how ridiculously cheap Alhaji Jakande sold those housing units to Allottees over thirty years ago?.For your information, he sold 2 bedroom flats for N5,000 and 3 bedroom for N7,500. No other Governor has done such a wonderful thing for the people of Lagos State since Jakande left office. |

Jakande building don't have reinforcement, no pillar whatsoever, people are just living in those houses by faith, those building can come down anytime. So people should be careful. I can never live in any Jakande built house o. I prefer the newer models that were build by the military administrator then, you will see the pillar reinforcements clearly. 1 Like |

[Guk] Why are you concerned about their relocation? Its the job of Govt to do so & they are up to the task. Am not aware of any legitimately displaced people in Lagos state that have not bn adequately relocated. Why have people lost trust in this present administration? list out what they have promised you and betrayed you and other residents of LAgos state about? My friend left for me i dont think he has anything to offer me. I am not working in the ministeries so i am less concern, i work for my money and not through dubious means. He promise free education. Is their free education in lagos? To register a primary school pupil do you know how much you will pay at alausa? How much is lasu school fee? He promise okada rider to the extend that he gave them helmet and eventual collect their okada which was eventually distributed to his party member in ondo state and they eventualy loose, despite his noise because those once are brilliant, i even heard his wife is selling okada now. What a country. Mention but few. Legitimately displaced? Are you aware that their bale was also shot dead? Is the bale also from togo? What about the communuty head that visited fashola in the office and he drove them away with police? You guys are inhumane! May God help this nation. |

jerseyboy: Initially I felt I should ignore your obviously misleading post. However I see that many of the pseudo-progressive ACN "opposition" propagandists are lapping on to it for new spins. How many of your Lagosian relations, friends and acquaintances who are between 37-50 years old who benefitted from Jakande's feee education with books are SUBSTANDARD people How many of them have turned out to be eyesores? This is a governor who achieved so much for the real people (masses) of Lagos without any extra burden on the current residents of Lagos in the guise of humonguous IGR nor the FUTURE, unborn residents of the state with bonds and loans! |

anonimi: Ultimately Jakande’s educational legacy will be judged by what destruction followed his policies. Lagos had some of the best secondary schools in the world. CMS, St Finbars, St Gregory, Holy Child etc. were all institutions on their way to rivaling the best in the world. You could go to those schools back then and know you have had a first class education. Free education could have been carried out while leaving those schools alone. By the way what was so wrong with afternoon schools that Jakande had to cancel them over night so as to build those shacks to accommodate everyone in the morning? Now its private schools everywhere and the elites will not be caught dead sending their children to high schools in Nigeria. |

Etimologically speaking the reason why the west are so intelligent today was because of Awolowo and Jakande legacy, if not for those people hmn yoruba would have breed thousands of boko boys wahalai, imagine you dont have money to send your children to school and they grew up and discover you have spent all what belongs to them on cosmetics, wont those children be the once to destroy it? Yoruba have a saying that omo tako longbe ile tako ta, where did fashola think he will be in the next ten years? But the unborn children which their parent may not afford lasu schools fee will never forgive him. |

Lets be honest with ourselves, the tragedies of today were laid 30 years ago. Its simply Cause & Effect. The seeds that were sown many years ago by Jakande are the harvest of collapse we are experiencing today....Simple. He might have done some good things back then, but he equally did wrong things like we others as well |
