2013: THE YEAR OF TRUE
WORSHIP TO GOD
Worship literally can be said to be a
feeling of expression of reverence and
adoration. When directed towards God, it
is to humble one’s self before God in reverence to him.
God made man in his own image and
after his own likeness (Genesis 1:26);
and gave man dominion over other things
he created. But then God required only
one thing from man, that thing required of man is Worship. God’s primary
purpose of creating man is man will
worship him. But instead of man to
worship God, man has made himself an
object of sorrow to God.
Adam and Eve failed to worship God because obedience is the main pillar of
worship, likewise men today. From the
earlier days of men, man preferred to
make a god of their own to worship,
instead of the true living God, the God
who made them but God is so merciful that he draws us close to himself each
time we go astray. In the Old Testament,
the blood/sacrifice of animals was used
to make remission for sins and to beg
God for forgiveness. God’s love went
beyond extreme when he gave his son Jesus Christ as an eternal sacrifice to
man for the remission of sins.
Back to the topic; “TRUE WORSHIP”;
what is true worship to God? Is it to
sing worship songs aloud from our
heart? Is it to go to Church everyday? Is it to offer the biggest sacrifice to God
(precisely money)? Or is it to be a
pastor/preacher of the word of God?
Although all these are part of true
worship but none of them is true
worship in itself. Jesus gave us a clear picture of what
true worship is when he said; “But the
hour cometh and now is when the true
worshippers shall worship the Father
in spirit and in truth: for the father
seeketh such to worship him. God is a spirit: and they that worship him must
worship him in spirit and in
truth.” (John 4:13-14). This means that
for you to be a true worshipper of God,
the worship you render unto him must
come from your spirit; your spirit must be aligned to the spirit of God.
Secondly, you must be truthful to God,
yourself and every other person.
In order to be truthful to God, you must
be absolutely obedient to God. You do
not choose the commandments you want to obey and then leave the rest, or choose to
obey some now and then others can come
later; rather you obey God absolutely.
He that fails in one stumbleth in all.
Abstain from ALL appearance of evil
(1st Thessalonians 5:22); And if a man strive for mastering, yet he is not
crowned, except he strive lawfully
(2nd Timothy2:5). Obedience is the
chief corner stone of worship; you
cannot claim that you worship God when
you do not obey him. And now is when the true worshippers shall worship the
father in spirit in truth: for the Father
seeketh such to worship him (John
4:13).
But then to obey God does not mean to be
carnally minded; the carnal mind is enmity with: for it is not subject to the
law of God, neither indeed can be
(Romans 8:7). For to be carnally minded
is death: but to be spiritually minded is
life and peace (Romans 8:6); for as
many that are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:16).
To be spiritually minded is to consecrate
yourself to God spiritually by means of
prayer. You cannot be a Christian
without dedicating a good time for
prayers and studying of the word of God.
This year 2013, you might have
planned to make some big money, get
some heavy ride (car), get yourself a
good house and things like that; what
about your relationship with God? I am not saying that to work hard and earn a
car and maybe a house is bad hence it is
earned uprightly and not by falsehood,
but then what about your creator? Do you
have any relationship with him at all?
And if you have one, is the relationship dead or alive? And if you have not any
at all with him by repenting of your
sins and calling upon him to save you;
what are you waiting for? Don’t you
think this is the right time? You should
ponder over these questions and try to get them answered within you. But if I must
advice you, your soul will be blessed if
you declare this year your year of true
worship to God by abstaining from all
your sinful ways and deciding never to
walk in sins again. Please brothers and sisters lets all turn
back to God, and if you are saved; let’s
even give God even a bigger time this
year in true worship and not worship
from the lips.
This year lets shun pride, worldly desires, immorality, adultery,
fornication, drunkenness, gluttony,
laziness, sluggishness to obey God’s
word, all manner of witchcraft, hatred,
anger, jealousy, greediness, love of
money which is the root of all evil, disobedience to parents and those in
authority over us, all forms of
indecency, self righteousness,
lukewarmness, envy, profane and idle
babbles, lies, deceit, stubbornness,
covetousness, disrespect, worldly songs, videos and movies; filthy dances and
any spot of sin at all.
The rapture is sure at hand, it can
happen today, tomorrow; in fact it will
take place any moment from now and
only the saints (sinless born again Christians) will be raptured; how ready
are you for the rapture? Are still
wallowing in your sins? Please come out
from your sins this year and decide to
worship God in spirit and in truth this
year. This message is for everyone: for me,
you, friends, relations, the sick,
prisoners and everyone as God wants us
all to make Heaven and not hell. Jesus
is calling us all to himself; he does not
want anyone to perish in hell. Please repent today if you’ve not and come to
serve God with all your heart today.
