I expect people to be outraged and "occupy" the stations selling above the official price. But it seems we don't understand the implication. It means the fuel is SUBSIDIZED TWICE! So its the Marketers that are being subsidized and NOT the end user. So whats the point of the subsidy? REMOVE IT! We try to rewrite and deny clear economic facts and that's a fool's errand. Shows how silly protesting about subsidy removal is.

What many supporters of the removal of the so call FG subsidy and even most of the pple against d removal dont recongnise is dat there is nothing like subsidy in d first place. we are just been taking for a ride in this country. b4 any one will dismiss or hull insult at me pls consider the following facts.

1. The NNPC is allocated 450,000 barrel of crude oil per day that should go to the local refineries. but since the refineries are largely comatose NNPC says they sell the daily allocation at d international market then they buy refined oil to sell to consumers. (Pls note that NNPC is not charged for d 450k barrel).

2. What stop d NNPC from taking d alloted barrels to foreign refineries (since they will never allow d local one to work) pay for cost of transportation and d actual cost of refining?

3. If number 2 above is done the landing cost of PMS will not be up to N40 per liter. (reason why PMS sold in Iran is around d Naira equivalent of N16 since they refine a large proportion of their fuel in Venezuela because they can't get spare parts for their own refineries as a result of d western economic sanctions they therefore charged d citizens only d cost of refining and transportation. Venezuela sells PMS for less than N10 per liter cos they only charge their citizens d cost of refining and and distribution).

4. The question will now be why d subsidy when we can safely get PMS for less than the so called subsidised price d first place?

All d government need to do is tell NNPC to go refine d free oil given to it in foreign refineries if it does not have d necessary will to make d local one work and build new ones, then charge Nigerians d cost of refining and transportation to our port and filling stations i bet u, we will enjoy one of d cheapest oil in Africa. but alas they wont do d above instead NNPC will claim they sell d allotted crude at international market at d international price and later buy refined products at international price so d government will claim they pay subsidy so every body can exploit Nigerians.

RED DEVILS: For over 3 months, residents of Enugu have been buying petrol for N120. At first people thought it will be
