Is Ojukwu A National Hero Or An Igbo Hero? by Donmichaelz(m): 8:48am On Jan 13, 2013 |
chuckwuemeka odumegwu Ojukwu is know for his ideology of a liberal igbo community, when he saw how the northerners where taking over nigeria politics. I was stil a child when nigeria was in civil war.my point is, 1-a man who wants to divide a nation do u call him a hero? 2-ojukwu was fighting for the igbo community only, why should we call him a NATIONAL TREASURE? Am not a tribalist but i dont see him as a National treasure.

If Nigeria had only listened to Ojuku in 1960 probably Nigeria would have been in peace or pieces, Most people criticizing Ojuku don't have any solution to Nigeria's Complex Security issues or to the Slaughter of Minorities in the Middle Belt by Fulani Militia in fact Ojuku's Critics are also Victims of Fulani Militancy but Because of Cowardice the will rather than fight their Enemy they would rather Channel their Anger to an uncommon enemy 3 Likes 1 Share |

A true Nigerian hero, poster. At least you must be smart enough to recognize that only heroes are given State Burial. Let those deluded hate-filled people live in their illusive world. Did Awo have the same level State burial that Ojukwu had, let alone Abiola. 2 Likes |

dayokanu: Someone who fought to break Nigeria cant be a national hero The point is lost on you, he fought to break the evil union called nigeria and failed. Many years later your afenifere elders are still crying marginalization, Ojukwu was right afterall, we will never be one nation. 3 Likes |

dayokanu: At least he stood up and was counted, split the damn contraption for the better part of 3 years and if not for the manically suicidal Awolowo, should have ended the nonsense. What have all your impotent, cowardly, fear fear afenifere done than cry marginalization. Where were your fathers when real men were fighting? 3 Likes |

Awolowo committed suicide because he found out he was wrong to back hausa people. Igbo will continue to vote hausa over yoruba anyday, who wants to stand with people with cowardice in their genes? p |

Thats what they think you are harlots No wonder the brought Ojuku to NPN to win them election in the East yet couldnt make Ojuku win his own senatorial district 3 Likes |

van bonattel: Continue voting Hausa whenever OBJ needs votes too you would readily give him Zik like many African rulers had a major character and integrity problem. At the root was his self-concept or self definition(the way one sees oneself). He saw himself in his own words as a "Beautiful Bride" for the highest bidder as well as indispensable. The former executive president of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, a mild mannered man captured it well when he told Zik during the 1979 election campaign: "when you switch husbands one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight times, you are no longer a beautiful bride but a harlot." |

Donmichaelz: chuckwuemeka odumegwu Ojukwu is know for his ideology of a liberal igbo community, when he saw how the northerners where taking over nigeria politics. Did you say Ojukwu wanted to divide a nation? Which nation are you talking about? If it is Nigeria you are talking about, then be informed that Nigeria was a never a nation, and is not still a nation. Nigeria is a failed experiment of the white-man. Though you were a kid during the war, must you remain a kid even till now? So you did not read about what led to the war? Biafra was declared when it was obvious that Igbos were no longer safe in Nigeria. they were being slaughtered in their thousands from Bornu to Sokoto to Lagos and if Ojukwu had kept quiet, he would had been a traitor to his people who looked up to him. Few misguided "Igbo" soldiers ganged up and murdered Hausa/Fulani leaders, then the whole North mobilised other Nigerians to exterminate a race and Ojukwu should be blamed for standing up to the occasion? Let us assume it like this: That Hausa/Fulani officers slaughtered Igbo leaders in the likes of Zik, then Igbo's all over teamed up to slaughter Hausa/Fulani in their thousands and their leaders would fold hands and watch just in the name of one Nigeria? You guys are just pathetic! For your information, Biafra is coming and there is nothing any body can do about it! to answer your question, Ojukwu is a National hero: A Biafran National hero. Cheers. 3 Likes |
