3njoying Angularjs Yet? Anyone? by dee5(m): 11:47am On Jan 13, 2013 |
took me bout a week to wrap my head around the whole concept of AngularJs...i even got a headache in the proccess (cos i used their docs). but since i now understand the underlying principle behind the AngularJS Framework, a whole new world of possibilities just opened up itself to me. Although i might have come late to the JS Framework bandwagon, but my development speed has skyrocketed...as i also use php frameworks like CodeIgniter and Laravel, i find that am able to complete monstrous projects in record time. Imagine Combining the Awesome power of Laravel with angularJs alongside Jquery, mehn who's got the big GGUNS now?....what are your experiences? has any of you enjoyed coding from scratch with these framework combinations?....no Joomla and other CMS please....as those are not frameworks. thanks. 1 Like |

To be frank i have never used AngularJS only Dojo Toolkit, but i have touched it and the thing i really like is the ease you can bind Models together, not sure what the term is AJS but in Dojo its quite complex, but fun you simply declare the model to update and use an element to watch the model and a change will trigger the view. am glad there are pple like you advancing from beyond basic javascript. look at this article tell me your opinion Classes in JavaScript. keep it up bro |

b4 going for angularjs i needed a framework on the JS side...so i did an intensive research on google...i needed something that would speed up dev on the client-side...as i discovered of late that the most time spent on coding websites from scratch is spent designing admin backends and that would be faster if one could pass the bulk of the work to the client-side javascript...AND Oh! in Angularjs the term is "two way data binding"...i think you should find time out of ur busy schedule to understand the Angular thingy...cos it will just blow ur mind...with angular, your page responds to user actions with just one or two lines of code...be ready to do lots of searching though....AngularJS is for the brave cos their docs really suck...but in it will pay of BIG time and u can spend less time doing tedious routines on the server side....besides what server side language do u use? or are you into UI or desktop/mobile applications? |

in AngularJS you watch elements with directives |

PHP/ASP.NET i already use a JavaScript Framework the Dojo Toolkit.i think what you call directives in angular is called Stateful Object, which is binded to an Output Object, once Model is changed all the Output binded to it changes, but the Stateful Object must be trigger by the Model. and yes i do Mobile Application, but mostly JavaScript stuff for now. |

it's cool u'e doin mobile apps i would like to go into the mobile arena...but my hands are currently full with web stuff also due to the fact that all the mobile webstores don't allow nigerian devs to sell their mobile apps. |

well that's true, its only when client request that i do it, i'd love to create one app and upload to the appstore and monitize not sure i can do that in Nigeria, but luckily am leaving here today so other countries might be a good place. |
