I love dem..........ate dem fried, roasted, grilled......dere is no stew we didn't use it to cook........we use to buy dem frm oto in ijanikin around dat badagry area........sadly we ve lost contact wit d man who sells dem..........last ate it about 10yrs ago.......by d way we call dem OKUKA |

Wonderful and very nutricious delicacy. Very very sweeet especially when roasted or freid. You can also eat it raw. But which ever way, it is very delicious and nutricious. How i wish i will have some to eat.its been quite an age i ate it last. Used to eat them a lot when i was in the villa many years ago. |

Those things are very nutritious. Our houseboy and my mum were the only ones that ate them in our house those days. Come and see how they would be smacking their lips and licking the oil off their lips . If you see as den just dey download the stuff with kpo-kpo Garri, you sef go wan chop the thing. And I did once. It tasted good |

@op: these are not worms, but the larvae of the stag beetle. They are usually harvested from dead palm trees and are a popular delicacy in South-east Nigeria. It's got some great protein content and known as AKPA in my dialect. Take this (roasted, boiled or raw) with palm wine and you will believe the gospel! 3 Likes |

In the south they call it 'Bayelsa suya' when i lived in ph and Bayelsa i ate it a lot, its really good especially when fried. |

Na wa O, everybody is forming yuck!yuck!yuck! They probably had it for dinner breakfast and lunch. I used to eat these when we lived in warri, nothing wrong with it. Actually it is eaten by many tribes who live close to a forest because it is found in the trunk of dead palm trees.They are the larvae of the Red Palm Weevil a type of beetle. |
