I came across a guy advising a lady to remove and throw away an engagement ring she's been wearing for 2 years without walking down the isle.

Now, I've got few questions:

Whats the normal time range a lady is expected to wear an engagement ring, as in, a guy proposes and d lady accept and he presented a ring to signify seriousness.

Secondly how long is too long to wear an engagement ring?

No fixed duration as long as the marriage plans is not revoked. It all depend on the parties to determine how long...

I won't advise anybody to wear an engagemt ring for over a year,what is the essence of wearing it for long as if its a wedding ring. If there are no immediate plans on ground for the wedding then I don't see the need of wearing it even.

A lady should wear an engagement ring until it changes to a wedding ring.

As for me, 3-6 months tops.

2years ke. The marriage date should have at least been agreed upon at most 2months after proposal now. Who can wear engagement ring for 2years. Omo, that na "gba jen simi" levels o. The babe is not really engaged. They just put her on hold.

3 to 4 months, at most 6 months. Or she can accept the ring and don't wear it at all until the real thing comes.

No fix time to stop wearing it,buts its better to propose to a lady when plans for marriage is closeby,and in top gear. Most people do that to secure the lady,and keep her hopeful even in hopeless situation.

for me, the most reasonable time is between six months to one year max cos there should be a marraige plan and date for the guy to propose

So why didnt the lady just ask the guy when she was accepting the engagement ring for the wedding date?
