A middle-aged man has allegedly beaten his girlfriend for burning a pot of rice she was cooking on Sunday afternoon. The lady, a student of the University of Calabar, Cross River State, was reported to left the rice on the stove to do some other domestic chores.

Trouble started when her boyfriend smelt the burnt rice on the stove and then dashed towards the lady by giving her the beating of her life, which resulted into injuries inflicted by the lady.

Aproko247 gathered from reports that neighbours around were initially reluctant to intervene in the ‘couple’s’ affairs, as it was reported that it was not the first time the man beats his girlfriend, but as her wailing became louder, they were force to barge into their apartment with the lady already wound with blood all over her.
