Nairalane: True or False. Either way, we re not starting the harmattan smstr again this yr. There are still some outstanding exams for the rain smstr yet to completed. E.g Seh001 and some others. My part adviser told me after that, the lectures ll then demand for at least some weeks rest b4 resuming . Dont forget, strike is not an holiday for them,its an instrument exercise for a course. It may be an unwanted holiday for us too but conventionally they ll hv some holiday rest. Some of my lecturers is presently out of the country( finland, south africa etc) for varying purposes. U cant tell them to start work immediately.

Ganiyat saheed: harmattan semester for whr? We avnt started rain semester for 2012/2013 at all, Nt 2 talk of writing examz. Dose outstanding electives (seh 001)etc. Ar for 1st semester of 2012/2013 session. So only God knws wen we'll start and finish rain semester after ASUU call off and wen we'll resume a new harmattan semester coz nuga is also dere waiting.

Authorities of Obafemi Awolowo Unibversity, Ile-Ife has directed its students to resume on Sunday.This was contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of
OAU, Mr. Biodun Olarewaju on Wednesday.
He noted that lectures would commence immediately after the resumption. Students of the university narrowly escaped not completing their Harmattan Semester exams when the strike began in July. It was gathered that the university was lagging a semester compared to
other federal universities in the country.
The statement read, “The authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, have announced Sunday, 8th December, 2013 as the resumption date for the 2012/ 2013 rain semester.
“Accordingly, students of the university are expected to come into residence on the above date as lectures will commence immediately.”
