15 Reasons Why Olusegun Obasanjo Was Nigeria's Worst Leader. by DukeNija(m): 11:48am On Jan 24, 2013
Why are we celebrating bad Leadership in Nigeria? Why do we praise those that have destroyed the future of this country?

Sometime ago, I 'read a thread' on Maryam Abacha, the Widow of the Late Sani Abacha.
I said to myself, "to hell with her, who cares about her or her family" they are the reason Nigeria is where she is today.
But then I realised that Sani Abacha might have stolen an estimated $5billion dollars, but Olusegun Obasanjo did more harm to Nigeria.
OBJ ruled at a very important political and economic epoch(2000), which if taken advantage of would have made all the difference for Nigerias development today. He dealth with Nigeria, raped us, and left us to dry.

I carefully outlined 15 Reasons Why Olusegun Obasanjo was worse than Sani Abacha.

1. On November 20, 1999, Military Operatives invaded Odi community in Bayelsa state after 12 policemen were killed by a group of militants.
The Soldiers killed over 200 innocent Men, Women and Children as reprisal. No militant was killed.

2. Over #1Trillion was pumped into the Nigerian Power sector since 1999-2007. All the monies was swallowed.

3.Nigeria experienced the highest spade of industrial actions owing to increase in fuel price during the OBJ regime.

4. There was complete neglect of important sectors such as Agriculture, manufacturing, exploration, transport, etc.

5. The agricultural sector had very few investors owing to the monopoly and control of a Top business man, and another who wanted his Farm in Otta to become Walmart.

6. Ibeto Cement was closed down, to give room for complete and total dominace of his political benefactor Aliko Dangote's 'Dangote Cement'. It was re-opened last year by President Goodluck Jonathan.

7. The Swiss bank returned over $1Billion stolen by the Late Sani Abacha, back to Nigeria. The money don miss.

8. The Harliburton Scandal was done during Olusegun Obasanjo's regime, and infact, it was aimed at Funding the 2003 Presidential Campaign.

9. The EFCC was established by OBJ, with the aim of attacking and harrassing his Political opponents.

10. Nigeria's 2003 General election was the most Flawed or should I say 'rigged' in the history of this country, both at the Presidential, State and Local levels.

11. OBJ succeeded in destroying Nigerias political unity, coordination and Synchronity by establishing over 30 Political parties, with the aim of destabilizing the Political Opponents of his PDP. We are still paying for that till date.

12. He introduced the 'Do or Die' approach to politics in Nigeria, by openly saying "Only Jesus can conduct a free election in Nigeria"
And "This election(2007) will be a "do or die" election.

13.The Petroleum Development Trust Fund(PTDF) was embezzeled by him and his then VP Atiku Abubakar. During their disagreement, they traded words on the issue, calling themselves thieves.
And also all the Trillions of Naira from Crude oil exports from 1999-2007 were embezzeled. Baba u too much O.

14. Olusegun Obasanjo just like Abacha, wanted to rule forever. He propossed a the infamous "Third term bill" to the National assembly, but was disgraced.

15. Olusegun Obasanjo increased Fuel price 7 times in 7 years.
Obasanjo, June 1, 2000: N20 to N30 (50%)
Obasanjo, June 8, 2000: Petrol price reduced to N22 (-10%)
Obasanjo, January 1, 2002: N22 to N26 (18.18%)

Obasanjo, June to October, 2003: N26 to N42 (23.08%
Obasanjo, May 29, 2004:N42 to N50 (19.05%)
Obasanjo, August 25, 2004:N50 to N65 (30%)

Obasanjo, May 27, 2007:N65 to N75 (15.38%)
He increased fuel price till he left Power on May 29.

16. I hope you have stopped giving him 1naira from every recharge you make on MTN, by dialling #555 instead of #555*1

This is intersting and somehow believable but most nigerians wil never talk about ur achievements rather ur failures. no wonder an adage says u will be remembered 4 ur failures nd nt ur achivements. he has tried is best, wat of d incumbent president
