Islamic Unity Week in Rabiul-Awwal by Rafidi: 3:31pm On Jan 24, 2013
the Sunni Muslims celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (s) on the 12th of the Islamic month of Rabiul-Awwal.

Shia Muslims celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (s) on the 17th of Rabiul-Awwal.

in Iran, where the Shia school of thought is predominant, starting from the 12th all the way to the 17th of Rabiul-Awwal is marked as "Unity Week".instead of the difference (in date) in celebrating the birthday of the Prophet (s) to be a sign of division among Muslims, the Iranians use this week to foster unity among Muslims.the Prophet (s) is for all Muslims, and therefore his birth should bring unity and mercy for all Muslims.the celebrations in Iran starts on the 12th Rabiul-Awwal (marked by Sunnis) to end on the 17th of Rabiul-Awwal (which is marked by the Shia).

HAPPY UNITY WEEK!HAPPY EID MAWLID!!!

Iran will host the 26th International Islamic Unity Conference in the capital, Tehran, with the attendance of representatives from 102 countries.

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, said on Sunday that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will also address the conference, which is scheduled to be held on January 27-28.

Referring to attempts made by foreign intelligence services to disrupt the conference, Ayatollah Araki said many of prominent figures were prohibited by their governments from participating in the event. “Despite these issues, many of the thinkers accepted the forum’s invitation.”

The 25th International Islamic Unity Conference was held in Tehran in February 2012. A major part of the conference revolved around the topic of Islamic Awakening and the popular uprisings in the Arab world.

The World Forum for Proximity is an international organization founded by Iran. Its main aim is to create more unity and solidarity among Muslims worldwide, regardless of their schools of thought.

The Islamic unity conference provides an opportunity for scholars to share views and review problems facing Muslims while presenting solutions.

Unity Week and the Message of the Prophet

Salaam and welcome to a special feature on the start of a special week. For your information, today is the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal, which our Sunni brethren regard as the birth anniversary of the Almighty's Last and Greatest Messenger to mankind, Prophet Mohammad (SAWA).

Since, we the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt, on the basis of narrations from the Holy Household, consider the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal as the auspicious day of the Prophet’s birthday, this 5-day span has been bridged as the Unity Week thanks to the dynamic initiative taken 34 years ago by the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), to promote Islamic solidarity on the national and international level, in accordance with God’s command in ayah 103 of Surah Aal-e Imran: “Hold fast, all together, to Allah’s cord, and do not be divided [into sects]”

Prophet Mohammad (SAWA) was sent by God with the universal message of Islam, for all humanity. As the Messenger of Mercy, whose mission was foretold by all previous prophets over the different parts of the world, he preached brotherhood of humanity. Although born in Arabia, he never said the Arabs had any preference over the non Arabs. Among his companions were Salman the Persian, Sohaib the Roman, and Bilal, the black Abyssinian.

As a matter of fact, he hailed his Iranian companion Salman as “from us the Ahl al-Bayt”, an honour no Arab companion was able to achieve. Once, on the commandment of God, he concluded pact of brotherhood among his companions, selecting a pair of those who were friends of each other. For instance, if Salman and Abu Zar were paired as brothers, the others paired together were Zubair and Talha, as well as Abu Bakr and Omar, and Osman and Abdur-Raham Auf. Yet another pair was Meqdad and Ammar Yasser.

After pairing some 740 companions, the Prophet then held the hand of his dear cousin, Imam Ali ibn Taleb (AS), in his hand, and declared him his brother. The brotherhood accord was so firm and binding that when one such pair was martyred in the Battle of Ohad, the Prophet instructed the two be buried in a single grave. This is all indicative of the spirit of brotherhood in Iran, and this warrants Muslims to close ranks, instead of drifting away from each other. Thus, in view of these facts, it is necessary for the different denominations of Islam, especially the schools of jurisprudence to work closely with each other.

Today, international paganism in the form of the Zionists and the secularists of the West are trying to harm Islamic unity. Unfortunately, they are being assisted in their unholy mission by the Salafis and Wahhabis and the terrorist groups they have formed to create sedition in Muslim ranks, such as the al-Qa’eda, the Taleban, the Laskhar Jhangavi, etc. These terrorist groups are active in Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, and other countries, and under the guise of Islam, they are carrying out the mission of their masters in the West and the usurper state of Israel. Under such circumstances, it is vital for Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims to assemble on a single platform. The Prophet is the ideal for all Muslims, and before departing the world, he made it clear that the Muslims will never go astray if they hold fast to Weighty Things, which he introduces as Thaqalayn.

On the command of God, he said that he was leaving behind the Book of God, that is the holy Qur’an, and his progeny, the Ahl al-Bayt. The Prophet said the two are inseparable from each other, and as long as Muslims hold fast to them there never will be any discord. Thus, in order to thwart the plots of the enemies of Islam and humanity, Muslims should converge on the common platform of Islamic unity, on the basis of love and affection for the Infallible Ahl al-Bayt.

According to the holy Prophet, a true Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands others are safe. A true Muslim should not oppress anyone, since oppression is a grave and unforgivable sin. Trampling the rights of others disrupts the psychological health of persons and is the most important factor for discord and separation. The Seal of Prophets made it clear that Muslims should regard themselves as brethren of the same community, and anyone who is not concerned about the affairs of fellow Muslims is not a true Muslim. It means, a Muslim should not betray another Muslim, let alone slander or kill him. As per the practice and behaviour of Prophet Mohammad (SAWA), a Muslim ought to be the mirror of his Muslim brother.

On the one hand, he views his values and virtues and turns to them and on the other hand, he distances from evilness and warns him. Muslims should help Muslims in achieving economic stability, rather than being influenced by the enemies of Islam to destroy the economy and industry of fellow Muslims.

In view of these facts, it is rather unfortunate for many Muslim countries to bow to the pressures of the US, to stop trade and other ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, or engage in state terrorism against Syria. The holy Quran says “Power, altogether, belongs to Allah.” In ayah 29 of Surah Fath, the holy Quran presents us an interesting visage of the Prophet and his true companions, when it says:

“Mohammad, the Prophet of Allah, and those who are with him are hard against the faithless and merciful amongst themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in worship], seeking Allah’s grace and [His] pleasure. Their mark is [visible] on their faces, from the effect of prostration.”

Islamic Unity Week

The Islamic Unity Week is marked between 12-17th Rabiul Awwal on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Prophet Mohammad SAW.

This period in which Muslims ponder on the fundamental call of unity according to the Holy Quran was initiated by the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (SA), following the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979.

Since its inception, the Islamic Unity Week has been marked annually, not only in Iran, but also throughout the world, and has played an important role in bringing the various Islamic Schools of Thought on a single platform, since Allah is One, and Muslims believe in the single Qur’an and bow towards the same focal point, that is the Holy Ka’ba, five times a day during daily prayers. Other commonalities among Muslims including fasting during the same month of Ramadhan and performance of the annual Hajj pilgrimage on the same dates of the month of Zil-Hijja. In view of these and other remarkable factors of unity, it is but natural for Muslims following the different schools of jurisprudence to close ranks in solidarity, especially in view of the divine commandment in the Holy Qur’an to “And hold fast by the covenant of Allah all together and be not disunited.” (Holy Qur'an 3:103)

Bridging the gap

The late Imam Khomeini’s foresight helped bridge the gap of five days between the two dates believed to be the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). According to Sunni Islamic narrations, the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal is recognized as the birth date of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). On the other hand Islamic sources relied upon by Shia Muslims and based on the narrations from the Ahlul Bayt (The Prophet's pure progeny); the auspicious birthday of the Holy Prophet (SAW) was on 17th of Rabi-al-Awwal.

In order to bridge this difference and use it as an opportunity to unite the ranks of Muslims, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Imam Khomeini (SA) designated the period of Milad-un-Nabi celebrations from 12th to the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal as the Islamic Unity Week. This dynamic concept aims to bring all Muslim schools of thought on the common platform of Islamic unity.

There is indeed unity in diversity and the idea of Islamic Unity Week has awakened Muslims from centuries of slumber largely because of the discord sowing policies of the enemies of Islam especially the Western colonialists and their local ignorant agents. The Ummah has also begun to realize that it is only unity and solidarity that will enable Muslims to utilize their vast untapped potential and rescue them from the never ending devious plots of their enemies who range from imperialists, Zionists, arrogant powers and Islamphobes. Islamic unity is the need of the hour, especially after the crusading campaign against Muslims unleashed by western governments, led by the great Satan, the US, in the name of combating terrorism following the highly suspicious incidents that rocked New York and Washington on September 11, 2001.

The US has since occupied two Muslim countries, Afghanistan and Iraq, and is threatening other Islamic lands. The issues of Palestine continue to linger on as Zionists and their western allies, aware of lack of solidarity within Islamic ranks, continue to occupy the Holy Quds, the first Qibla of Muslims. The plight of 1.5 Million besieged Palestinians in Gaza is should serve as a call to unity among the over 1.5 Billion Muslims in the world.

This year the Islamic Unity Week is being marked amid a backdrop of a new Islamic wind of change sweeping across the Middle East. The Muslim masses in the region have awakened and so far toppled the Mubarak regime in Egypt which was subservient the 'Great Satan', the U.S. and the illegal Zionist regime. Muslim masses have also deposed the Tunisian dictator Ben Ali who was an obedient servant of Western countries and the Zionists.

All nations in the region have common demands which include non-interference of arrogant powers (in their internal affairs), fight against aggression of the Zionist regime and cutting dependence on the US, Zionist regime and their allies.A new Middle East is taking shape, not the Mideast the West had planned for but one which has been created based on Islamic awakening.
The movement and uprising that has been created in the region will definitely disturb the equations in the world today. No doubt the era of puppet regimes has passed and revolutions in the Middle East are against the US-supported dictators in the region.

As the leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said 'the West is concerned that the Islamic Revolution is served as a model for the region and the entire world'. “Enemies are making efforts to prevent the Islamic Iran from serving as a model for Muslim nations in the region because public movements will be difficult without a model,” said Ayatollah Khamenei.
The Leader added that the main reason behind the West pressure on the Islamic Republic is that Iran is promoting a model in the region and the globe.
“After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, enemies have been making efforts to weaken the Islamic establishment through imposing various sanctions and the eight-year (Iraqi) imposed war, raising human rights issues and assassinating nuclear scientists,” Ayatollah Khamenei noted.

He pointed to latest developments in Egypt and other regional countries and added, “The Islamic awareness has begun in the Muslim world. This was emanated from the Islamic Revolution.”
The Leader noted that the upward move of the Islamic awareness in the Muslim world is the "sweet outcome" of the resistance of the Iranian nation over the past 32 years.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that very important incidents that took place in Egypt stemmed from the Islamic awareness and humiliation of the civilized Egyptians for many years. He said the Egyptian government inflicted humiliation on the people due to its dependence on the US and the Zionist regime until the Egyptian nation and youth finally rose up.

The United States and the Zionist regime (Israel) are creating obstacles in the way of movements by the Egyptian and Tunisian nations through different means, but Muslim states in the region, through a show of unity, should help people of these two countries.Unity among Muslims is the best method to counter the enemies. Unity and solidarity present Muslim governments and nations with the best and most effective way to counter the plans, plots, and conspiracies of the enemies of Islam.

Arrogant powers led by the U.S. regime have always tried to fight the unity among Muslim countries by committing conspiracies through their mercenaries.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is the true pioneer of unity across the world. The International Conference of Islamic Unity and other regional and global seminars organized by Iran are “golden” examples of Tehran's efforts to promote proximity between Muslim states.

In view of the threats posed by enemies, it is essential for the Islamic world to close ranks and coordinate efforts to counter the Zionist and U.S led aggressions. The predators have hatched a variety of plots to plunder the vast wealth and natural resources of Muslim countries through different means and at the same time brainwash minds of uninformed Muslims by way of distorted media reports, glamorous yet misleading films and TV programs, deceptive newspapers and magazines, decadent internet websites and the violence-filled computer games.

This is in stark contrast to the logical reasoning of Islam that gave the world a lasting civilization at a time when Europe was languishing in the dark ages. It is the quest for knowledge, the respect for others rights and fostering of humanitarian values that made Islam and true believers dynamic, much to the detriment of the detractors. It is the lifestyle and guidance of the Prophet (SAW), the immaculate members of his household, the Ahlul Bayt and the rightly guided companions which charts the path of righteousness by giving a practical demonstration of the revealed word of Allah for the betterment of human society and acts as a beacon of light for mankind.

Muslims thus ought to follow the Prophet’s perfect path of establishing unity and solidarity, and thereby becoming immune from the onslaughts of their common enemies. They should be on guard against divisive tendencies since the Zionist regime and Western imperialists have made no secret of their plans to divide and rule. Alas, our failure to check the evil ambitions of the US and the devilish plots of our avowed enemy the illegal Zionist entity called Israel, have been due to lack of unity. Solidarity can neither be superficial by mere expressing of words of sympathy nor can it be imposed. The plight of the Palestinian Muslims and the American atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan, are examples in this regard. Our lethargy and our mere lip service makes matters more complicated matters. Unity and solidarity ought to be based on sincerity of purpose. This is possible only by heeding what God Almighty commands in the Holy Qur’an and what was practically demonstrated by the Prophet. Therefore, it is wrong to believe that slogans and submissive ties with the enemies will save Muslims. A true Muslim state has to be independent and independence is not possible unless people strive for self-sufficiency, solidarity and security.

Through authentic unity Muslims will certainly attain progress and conquer the pinnacles of powers in all fields, including political, social, cultural, technological, economic and industrial. Although foreign policy with focus on building inter-Muslim solidarity is welcome, it is essential to pursue cultural and intellectual methods to help bridge the gulf of the past centuries. This is possible through expert gathering in different fields with sincere efforts to study and remove the root cause of differences among Muslims. The Islamic Republic of Iran has shown the way through annual international and national Islamic unity conferences.
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday 15th Feb warned of enemy's divisive plots in the region, and called on Islamic states to hammer out closer ties to play a more influential role in the world.

Speaking in a meeting with visiting Turkish President Abdullah Gul and members of the Turkish delegation here in Tehran Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that safeguarding and bolstering Islamic unity as well as avoiding aliens' divisive plots are the most important issue in the Muslim World.
"All policies and managements in the Islamic countries should move towards fostering unity and increasing the power of the Muslim world," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
As the Islamic Revolution leader stated, "If the Islamic world realizes its huge potential and capacities, the conditions will be quite different and the Islamic world can act as an influential and powerful bloc in international developments".
The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought extends its warm felicitations to Muslims worldwide on the occasion of Milad un Nabii and the Islamic Unity Week.

This year, 1432 AH concurrent with 2011 CE, Iran will be hosting the 24th Islamic Unity Conference where recent developments in the region will be top of the agenda. The conference will also review and analyze previous conferences with a view of coming up with practical solutions for attaining Islamic Unity.Over 250 scholars from 57 countries as well as 500 Shia and Sunni scholars from various Iranian cities are expected to attend this year's conference.

Celebrations to be held in 115 countries for the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA)

Secretary General of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly said celebrations are planned to be held in 115 countries on the auspicious occasion of the auspicious birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny).

Speaking in a press conference on Monday, January 21, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hassan Akhtari also said that concurrent with the auspicious occasion, a ten-day program titled Prophet of Mercy and Justice has started in Iran and other countries.

He said in the past years, some irrational individuals, based on plots hatched by hegemonic powers, especially the US and Israel and their allies, have made numerous attempts to impede the progress of Islam in the world, adding that one of these attempts has been desecration of the Prophet (SAWA).

Hujjat al-Islam Akhtari added that Muslims have taken different measures to confront these plots, and the mentioned program is one of them.

He said the reason behind irrational attempts by the enemies of Islam is the ignorance of human society about the pure culture of Islam and the status of the Prophet (SAWA), stressing that such attempts should be confronted rationally.

The senior religious scholar noted that the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly has sent letters to the Muslim worlds scholars and great figures, reminding them of their responsibility to confront anti-Islamic moves.

He regretted that little has been done to introduce the status and role of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) in the guidance of humanity.

There will be unity only

1. When people stop asking Allah to abrogate the verses on forgiveness, repaying bad with good etc

2. When they stop asking Allah to withdraw his mercy/forgiveness from some muslims
Re: Islamic Unity Week in Rabiul-Awwal by ShiaLagos1: 10:35am On Jan 25, 2013
^

i think we can also add a third option (which should be the first option),and that is stopping terrorism against other Muslims:

https://www.nairaland.com/1120418/genocide-shia-muslims-pakistan

https://www.nairaland.com/961495/timeline-sectarian-terrorism-against-shia

as for your two options,i wonder who does them and where i am not aware of muslims asking Allah to "abrogate" His verses on forgiveness or to withdraw his mercy from "MUSLIMS".i am only aware of asking Allah to withdraw His mercy from/punish some hypocritical criminals in the past who did great harm to Islam and Muslims, like Yazeed and a number of his predecessors and associates.i am sure no one can pray for forgiveness for some people who made Allah,His religion and the Prophet and his household (s) their declared enemies and targeted them.any sane muslim would be afraid to ask for forgiveness for an enemy of Allah.the only sane option is disassociating themselves from the enemies of Allah (swt).i cannot imagine for instance an american asking God to forgive bin laden after the 9/11 attacks (going by the claim that bin laden carried out those attacks).it is not normal!

Dissociation from Evil .

Monday, 17 May 2010 14:51 Rabab Jaffery .

On the eve of the martyrdom of the greatest lady in the universe (peace be upon her), one action that every Shia Muslim performs is to pick up the rosary and utter the words, "May the curse of Allah be upon the oppressors." Why do we curse those who are no longer alive and present? What is the importance of such as act in the light of Islam? Do we not spread the fire of hatred by cursing the ones who are respected and loved by other sects of Islam?

Tabarra is the word given for complete dissociation from the enemies of Islam and Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them). According to traditions, this act is one of the foundations of religion. This article discusses about how Tabarra is viewed in our societies.

On a side note, although the term "curse" has been used in this article for the sake of convenience, we should know that the word lan'at cannot be translated directly as "curse", which is to appeal misfortune for someone. Rather, it is an invocation praying for the removal of blessings and mercy from the doer of evil.

The world is full of hate, and Tabarra adds more hate...we need to spread love instead
A wise scholar once said, "The one who can please each and everyone must be a hypocrite." The religion of Islam is a great fan of spreading love and friendship among all human beings, but not when they are perpetrators of falsehood and injustice. A society that can accept both good and evil at the same time is unstable and will break down at some point. Tabarra acts like the sieve that filters the slightest inclination towards evil from our souls, and guards our faith against hypocrisy.

Tabarra disunites the Ummah and strengthens the Shia-Sunni Schism
Publicly cursing the murderers of Lady Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her) can and will create friction between Shia and Sunni Muslims. Should Shia Muslims care about this problem? Indeed, yes. We must simply not overlook the advice of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) (especially in his last will) stating that Muslims should always beware of disunity. Cursing in public goes against the purpose of Tabarra, which is to stabilize and protect the Ummah. For this reason, our scholars have disallowed this type of potentially harmful cursing in public. No doubt we must curse those whom Lady Fatima herself would curse, but we must be mindful of doing it in a way that does not create Fitna and destabilize the Ummah.

Tabarra makes you dwell on too much past and forget the present
First of all, dwelling on the past isn't a bad thing. The remarkable thing about history is that it repeats itself so often! Islamic history is no different. As we curse the enemies of Ahlul Bayt, our curious mind seeks to know why we are cursing them, and most importantly, why the Ahlul Bayt did not approve of them. Let us recall that the Ahul Bayt did not dislike individuals for personal reasons; they disliked them because they acted against Islam. The end result of Tabarra is hatred towards everything which is against Islamic teachings.

We really don't achieve anything by uttering a simple curse...or do we?
Well, that really depends on how much Tabarra we are bringing into action. Tabarra of words is great, but quite meaningless if it only stays there. The wife of Pharoah, Lady Asiyah (peace be upon her), was a great example to show us how Tabarra should be performed. When she was severely tortured by her tyrant husband for accepting the call of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him), Lady Asiyah's prayer to Allah was:

"O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong." (66:11)

She could have simply asked Allah to save her from the tyrant Pharoah, but instead she desired separation from "his doings" and every type of falsehood and evil. When we do Tabarra, we must exactly do this. The effect of this would be to create within us repulsion towards the actions that made the accursed worthy of Allah's curse. As we do Tabarra against Yazid, we express disgust towards all his doings, and through our actions, we do nothing that resembles his actions. A person who curses Yazid would not go near alcohol. A girl who really curses Yazid cannot step out of her house without Hijab.

Is Tabarra only towards personalities in the past? Of course not! Tabarra is an always active form of worship that we need to be mindful of every day of our lives. If we are invited to a mixed gathering and we decide not to go, we are doing Tabarra. As we kill our desire for that creamy Frappucino at Starbucks or that cool Motorola Droid cell phone, we are doing Tabarra as we are boycotting Zionist goods. Every step we take against falsehood is Tabbara.

"The curse of Allah is on the wrong-doers." (Quran 7:45)

as for your two options,i wonder who does them and where i am not aware of muslims asking Allah to "abrogate" His verses on forgiveness or to withdraw his mercy from "MUSLIMS".i am only aware of asking Allah to withdraw His mercy from/punish some hypocritical criminals in the past who did great harm to Islam and Muslims, like Yazeed and a number of his predecessors and associates.i am sure no one can pray for forgiveness for some people who made Allah,His religion and the Prophet and his household (s) their declared enemies and targeted them.any sane muslim would be afraid to ask for forgiveness for an enemy of Allah.the only sane option is disassociating themselves from the enemies of Allah (swt).i cannot imagine for instance an american asking God to forgive bin laden after the 9/11 attacks (going by the claim that bin laden carried out those attacks).it is not normal!

I suggest you should leave all the judging of sanity to Allah
When you tell me that you sent lanat on people, you are indirectly asking Allah to close the door of mercy which according to the Shia narrations Ali (RA) did not even close the door on his enemies
As a man who understood Islam, he left the matter to Allah
But people who claim to love him will have none of that. They must remind Allah as if Allah can forget
They invoke Allah not to forgive. Although Allah's punishment is severe, his mercy encompasses all things

Suppose these guys make Jannah, will some people refuse to enter Jannah so that they will not inhabit same place with "these hypocritical criminals"

ShiaLagos1:
i think we can also add a third option (which should be the first option),and that is stopping terrorism against other Muslims:

When you stop annoying people by cursing them (you claim it is lanat, not curse, although I wonder wish you prefer that people should visit on you), maybe, maybe they might stop attacking others
But you guys should also stop oppressing people

Arab minorities in Iran are mostly based in the southwest. They complain of economic deprivation and systematic discrimination by authorities which, they say, try to dilute their Arab identity.

There are no official figures for the size of the Arab population but independent estimates count Arabs as the majority in oil-rich Khuzestan province, which borders Iraq.

Iranian officials maintain they have no problems in Khuzestan and dismiss talk of human rights violations against Arab Iranians in Ahvaz as propaganda.

you have missed a great deal on the point of Tabarra, which to a least extent is what chapter of the Quran, which is also referred to as "Suratul-Baraa" was revealed about.try and understand the concept of Tabarra in Islam.doing Tabarra simply mean taking a stand with Allah (swt).if those men end up in paradise on a hypothetical basis you are drawing up,it is never therefore because they never deserved as tyrants or oppressors to be done tabarra on.rather,we have done what is expected of us and Allah forgave them.

it is like criminals in a country trying to kill the first lady.when theese criminals are caught,a crowd of citizens call for justice and demand these criminals be executed.in the event the president passes a presidential pardon, those who called for justice and took a stance in favor of the first lady and out of love for the president have done the right thing and no evil would be upon them.those pardoned should be grateful for the kindness shown to them and have no case against what just people called for.

i am replying in this way to cut the story short.otherwise those under the microscope,if we are to take them one by one,and analyze what they committed and against whom, based on authentic prophetic hadiths and in light of the Quran,we will realize their fate will more than likely be in the hell fire.however to cut things short,it is unbecoming for anyone to side with someone who committed crimes on the premise of the possibility the criminal could be forgiven.forgiveness is one thing, and seeking justice or disassociating oneself from the criminal and taking a stance in favor of truth and justice is definitely another thing entirely.the two should not be mixed,or one used to counter the other on the premise of sheer possibility.

those iranian arabs are Shia.so i wonder who you are referring to with "you" and "others".you perhaps have thought under the false impression that any arab must be Sunni and any persian must be Shia.those arabs of Ahwaz province where Khuzestan is found are Shia.they are very similar to the Shia arabs of Iraq and especially those found in the predominantly Shia arab city of Basra,in Iraq.i dont want to go into this topic discussing their plight or whether the report you cited is right or wrong.i am simply telling you that the analogy or the parallel you wanted to draw by using "you" and "others" in regards to the iranian government and the people of ahwaz (respectively) does not hold.i would also bring to your attention that the foreign minister of the islamic republic of iran,Ali Akbar Salihi is an Ahwazi arab.the supreme leader of Iran,Ayatollah Khamenei is a "sayyid" with a black scholarly turban or descendant of Prophet Muhammad (s),the prophet from arabia.

secondly,no one should be killed for holding whatever religious beliefs.you are indirectly or implicitly saying the Shia genocide in pakistan or killings elsewhere are justified, and that contradicts Islam.perhaps you may as well say christians have to stop claiming Jesus (as) is "god",and until they stop boko haram will continue to kill them.it is only if you follow a religion of barbarism that you would support killing people based on what they choose to believe,an inalienable right that God have given man according to the Quran.the Quran says "let those who will believe, and those who will disbelieve".you should by no mean play the tactic of justifying one crime with another,by seeking to introduce another subject into the topic or diverting our conversation to discuss Ahwaz, which is entirely a different situation not based on sectarian/ethnic killings and where no one's life is taken based on religious or ethnic identity, and no one's place of worship is blown up into piece to massacre worshippers as we see the extremists (wahhabi/salafist) Sunnis do to the Shia.the situation in ahwaz province has to do with relations between a central government of a sovereign state with an independent judiciary and a province within the sovreign state of Iran;not between terrorists and victims.do not divert the topic.either try to think before you post in an honest manner or keep silent and learn what you have no knowledge of.you cannot bring discord even into this thread,in a process of what seems to you as defending what you hold with ignorance.

The Shias routinely talk about unity, but they tell us they don't want it too
What can be inferred beyond taqiyya
Having been told repeatedly that it is Sunnis that have divergent views, I no longer buy the argument that it is only some low level Shias that hold certain provocative opinions

Here is Amar saying that Shias have compromised enough in the name of unity. What compromise? I would really like to know
I know about Azhar trying to accommodate Shia view though

I want to turn ALL of you to Sunnis

So why are they killing Shias - pls help me reduce my ignorance

BetaThing is promoting unity here!!! grin

Iran has created an islamic unity week, and al-quds day.Shia dont go about strapped with bombs to kill sunnis in mosques.

instead of doubting the intentions of others and spilling venom out of the insecurity for your beliefs, tell us what you have done to promote muslim unity.

if you seek forgiveness for them,it means you share something with these criminals.and the something you share with them can be divided into two:

1.) enmity for the Ahlul-Bayt (as) at least by belittling their position God have granted to them.
2.) spreading criminality and hatred you find extremists Sunnis working on to blow up Shia and Christian places of worship.the same terrorism and criminality that befell the Ahlul-Bayt (as) of Prophet Muhammad (s).so if you are with the truth, you dont go about seeking forgiveness for those who have committed evil.have you no consideration that that could be enough reason for you to anger God and those on truth who are victims of oppression? the entire religion of Islam is built upon amr bil maroof wa nahi anil munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil).

what you are doing here in the thread is resisting unity.instead of trying to honestly and openly deny the solid steps being taken by others to promote unity, you are popping up divisive arguments and hiding behind them.it is evil!

I will refute this someday Insha Allah
you are very funny.someone traces his lineage to Prophet Muhammad (s) through his grandsons,Imam Hassan and Hussain (as),the sons of Sayyida Fatima (as).and you are saying you would "refute" that claim.i wonder how and based on what logic/fact. shocked who are the descendants of the Prophet (s)? do you want to belie the Holy Quran and the prophecy contained in Suratul-Kawthar?

no offense intended, can i deny you are the son of your father? isn't that ridiculous? anyways for you info, many if not most of our Shia Muslim scholars wear the black turban to symbolize their dignified ancestral lineage from Prophet Muhammad (s).Shia scholars who are not descended from Prophet Muhammad (s) put on white turbans.

I said maybe, maybe, perhaps. I don't know why they are killing people. I just suspect they cannot control they anger when they hear those annoying words. Jesus is God is the essence of Christianity. Ali (RA) did not do some of these stuff you guys do

i dont know whether to laugh at the above,or to cry because i assume you are a mature man that is not below the age of 18!

so you condemn boko haram killing christians because the "godship of Jesus" is the "essence of christianity".but you dont condemn the inhuman and un-islamic massacres (by Sunni extremists) against Shia Muslims because Imam Ali (as) according to you "did not do these stuff" we do.did Jesus (as) claim to be "god" according to Islam, and based on both the Quran and Bible? do you see your dishonesty? perhaps you are shy to also justify targeted killings against Christians and be seen as a blind extremist, whereby a christian in the forum can see your words and hold them against you.you are beyond ridiculous.so you dont condemn killings of people based on what religious beliefs they hold? does Islam support killing people because they hold different beliefs from yours? i dont think this is what we learn from the Quran.and this is definitely not the Islam of Muhammad (s).this is the "Islam" of Banu Umayya, which is obviously the legacy of the Jahiliyyah Quraysh and its tradition of bloodshed.should we Shia also start killing Sunnis arbitrarily because they "dont follow what Muhammad (s) preached",or Christians because they "dont follow what Jesus (s) taught"? you make no sense!

I don't intend to murder any Shia
I want to turn ALL of you to Sunnis

you can keep dreaming.but i want to turn you too into a Shia.and we Shia do that through the pen and the spoken word, and not through the bombs.if we kill ourselves then,no one gets to change or turn or convert.we Shia believe peaceful preaching with "wisdom and kind exhortation" which are recommended in the Quran are enough to turn the entire earth to (Shia) Islam.

So why are they killing Shias - pls help me reduce my ignorance

you should ask them.or read their takfiri statements they embark on to kill.the fact is the Shia have neither committed murder against the terrorists nor have the Shia sought vengeance.they kill Shia Muslims simply because the Shia Muslims are falsely described as "heretics" and "unbelievers" and "mushrikeen/idolaters" by the extremists blinded by hate and sedition.they are acting on the takfir (verdict of disbelief) they (i.e. the extremists) pass on others.passing takfir and avoiding what they regard as "disbelief" or preaching peacefully against it ( "disbelief" ) is not enough for the criminals.they have to kill.that is their belief and religion of terrorism inherited from the Banu Umayya who beheaded the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (s) himself.

the videos of hate you post by people of extreme hate are evidence of this takfir the extremists work on to kill and commit bloodshed and corrupt the earth;while the Quran says "he who kills an innocent soul it is as if he has killed all of humanity" and "let those who will believe and those who will disbelieve".definitely killing even outright "unbelievers" who have not oppressed anyone is a sin in Islam.so how much more Muslims?
