Super Eagle Coach, Stephen Keshi, said despite playing a draw with the Chipolopolo of Zambia, Super Eagles team gave a good account of themselves.
Keshi, who describe the team’s performance during the tension-soaked match as satisfactory, said the Zambians deserved a lot of respect as the African Champions in the competition.

“My goal was to get a three points. But, I’m happy with the score line. The Zambians are a team that I respect a lot. I’m satisfied with the outcome of the match,” the Super Eagles coach said.
The coach, however, said that the Super Eagles games have witnessed terrible officiating, with about five yellow cards already issued to members of the team in the two games they have played so far, including the match against Burkina Faso.

Expressing doubts about the penalty awarded to the Zambian team, Coach Keshi said it was inappropriate, pointing out that since the referee is the boss on the field, the team has to move ahead.
As regards Mikel Obi’s missed penalty, Keshi said no one is immune to missing penalty kicks, recalling that the same players had scored in similar occasions in the past.

“The last time we played in calabar, Mikel scored it. You don’t have a specialist in penalty kicks. Its either you lose or you score. It’s gone. All we need to do is to prepare ourselves for Ethiopia,” the coach said.
Super Eagles goalie, Vincent Enyeama, also said that the game was marred by poor officiating, pointing out that the penalty awarded the Zambians was a “weak call”.

“The penalty wasn’t fair. The officiating was poor and its one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen in my life. We were given a red card at the last match. It’s not fair. I don’t know what’s going on, and we say we want to improve African football”, Enyeama lamented

STOP CALLING IT ''POOR OFFCIATING''.

CALL IT WHAT IS IS: FRAUDULENT OFFICIATING PERPETRATED BY CRIMINALS IN THE CORRIDORS OF POWER AT CAF, IN CAHOOTS WITH THEIR BACKERS AND COLLABORATORS.

That was never a penalty any day. With that said, yes the team is average but they deserve more respect and credit from a lot of Nigerians than they're getting
Nigerians don't seem to get it, we currently do not have players like Amokachi, stephen keshi, Oliseh et al any longer and the coach can only work with the players at his disposal.

Aside the disjoint between the forward and the midfield/defense and the resulting 'stoke' like display, the boys have done well so far with the available players.

Not forgetting the below par officiating and the football luck which has been eluding the team

Eagles need to learn to score more goals. It's always 1 - 0 or 2-1. The Refs are out to get us. So Keshi get your boys to score as many goals as possible against Ethiopia. 3-0 in the 1st half will be ideal. I'm really worried about the referees and their intentions.

He shouldn't be satisfied when poor officiating is what blocked us from what was to be a victory. Zambia was terrible that 2nd half and were jubilating for a lucky draw. I'd have been irate if I were in his shoes.

Yes, it would have been nice to hammer more goals against the Zambians. 1-0 results do occur though. Whether it's one goal or five, a win is a win, and I would have accepted a 1-0 victory gladly.

With that said, our boys need help finishing and passing as our accuracy is woeful at times.

Is obvious CAF hate Nigeria
On the scale of bad officiating for the 2 matches I give the last match the worst

The referee wanted to balance the penalty given to Nigeria and he just chose the worst decision (maybe) ever witnessed to give out penalty

I believe if the pitch was better Super eagles would have buried the gave since.

I hope they go against all odds (officials) to win Ethiopia

If they (CAF) were to be against Nigeria, for whatever reason, do you think the ref would have awarded us a penalty.

Or do you think he would have waited till the last minute to give one to the Zambians?

With the way this poor officiating is going against Nigeria, I'm tempted to say there's a conspiracy behind it all. Not saying there is. You never know.

If truly Keshi was satisfied, then we can never go beyond this consistent average performance! Mehn, a whole lot is wrong with that team!

The referee is a complete maggot. Even the Zambian guy player was outside the 18yrd box and he still went ahead to award a penalty. Despite that, I still believe we performed below expectation. Keshi's substitutions has been questionable and doubt his competence as a world class coach. The National teams he has handled so far has been below performance. In as much as I do not approve the appointment of a white man as our national team coach, I think at this point, bring Olise, let us try all of them and see who can perform.

The match against Ethiopia will be very tough. The Super Eagles will sweat blood to win the Ethiopians. This match will be played at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium so there will be no excuse of a bad pitch.

No, this is a very good team. The problem with the team is that of cohesion. This current team cannot merge their individual talents and translate it into a smooth style of play that is very obvious in a team that speak the same language. You can't blame Keshi or the players. These boys are playing their hearts out in a competition that has highly evolved and is no respecter of past glory. The need to up the ante and unleash their potential.

The boys played better no doubt. But the gap btw Emenike and d midfield was too much. Secondly those long balls usually waste possession. Keshi Ʊ guys can do better. Don't cry fowl bout officiating, Ʊ aint seen nothing yet. More worse calls are coming Your way. Africa 4 u

Some claim the team is a very good team undecided...I think not. The winning mentality that is birthed by a combination of sublime skills, cohesion and playing experience was/is an ingredient lacking in what many jokingly call 'Super Eagles'. Could this set of palyers be referred to as super?
Mr Keshi needs to teach these men how to get hungrier for goals even after taking a lead, and also work on himself, particularly in making the right substitutions and doing so early enough. I, however, commend him for sidelining Yobo for the Zambian encounter

My mum once told me that,No one can make a man miserable, except himself. Therefore,we should learn on how to accept mistakes, rather than shift blames. The referee did his job within the ambit of his power,so we shouldn't shift the blame of our loss to him. Nigeria's team is a whack.

I hate excuses, there's no reason whatsoever for failure in life.

Nigeria should even stop paticipating in AFCON. We are being punished unjustly by the rest of African countries. Imagine how these bastard refs have been treating us in this tounament, this is now bringing back the bad memories of the previous inccidents such as the disallowed beautiful goal scored by Henry Nwosu agaist cameroun in 1988. What about Afcon 2000 final? What about the pelnalty given to host Tunisia in 2004 semi final agaist us? What about Drogba's dubious offside goal agaist us in 2006?
