The Senate on Tuesday directed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to recover the sum of N35.5billion Aviation Intervention Fund which was extended to Air Nigeria.

The chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation said the committee during its investigations into the Dana Air plane crash discovered that the N35.5billion aviation intervention fund which was disbursed by UBA and extended to Air Nigeria was diverted by the management of Air Nigeria to other businesses.

i tire for all these directives with no meaningful execution at the end of the day just because the senate want to pretend to act.
An interesting part of the story is either they want their own share of the fund through bribery(farouk lawan things), or they sincerely want the fund to be collected so that they can share it among themselves at the end of the day(national cake)

Why should government institutions be reminded on the need to recover stolen funds. In a sane clime, Jimoh Ibrahim will be in jail by now for diverting public funds And yet the government is further proposing to acquire aircrafts for these airlines when most of them have diverted the initial N300billion intervention fund to private coffers! Sick Nation!
