1. Yes, but, you have to know/do the kind of business you have passion/drive for, there are small scale businesses you can explore in the UAE, l will suggest you arrive, do proper networking, feel the business culture/vibe, interact with a broad spectrum of Nigerians, don't disclose how much you have to anybody, gather as much informations as much as you can, and then make an informed business decision.

2. Age seems to be a factor now with Etihad airlines, but, l will suggest you look towards emirate airlines and other tour agencies in the UAE.

3. Google will be your friend here as regard cheap hotels, you might want to look towards deira axis in Dubai for cheap hotels.

4.No Nigeria network works here that l know of, except l can be proved otherwise, although, we have etisalat network here in the UAE, and they have promos and discount calls for you if you call etisalat in Nigeria.

5. Gtb Bank, UBA Africard and other master cards from Nigeria works here.

6. Both airlines are good, but, l prefer Etihad, they are cheaper and more flexible.

7. Take your time and read back wards, the thread is loaded with wisdom tips.

Enjoy a robust reading session.

Good luck.

What is the age limit for Etihad airline?

Here are the contacts of Emirates and Etihad airline.

Etihad airlines with this number: +23412120231 or +2348099122384

Emirate airlines with this no 02717600.

YOU CAN REACH THEM ON THOSE NUMBERS BECAUSE THEY TEND TO GIVE DIFFERENT AGE LIMITS TO DIFFERENT APPLICANTS.

Hi all,
I'll be in Dubai with my family for a few days from December 25. Any suggestions on tourist attractions that would be worth our while? We'll be staying in Bur Dubai for 3 days, then Deira for another 3 days. We also plan to visit Abu Dhabi briefly and return to Dubai same day.
Thanks!

Shameless display of boasting I AM RICH!!!!
At this time of Christmas you should spread your money amongst the poor.
REMEMBER Christ said "It is harder for a rich man to enter heaven than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.
You may boast of wealth now but your afterlife is full of thunderfire.

It is too close to call, we have seen different forumites coming with different informations given to them by Etihad, we have heard of between 25,26, 27 & 28yrs upward as the required age by Etihad, l will suggest you call them with the contact number given on this thread to hear from them directly, but, personally, l have seen u-22yrs old arriving the UAE from different countries, l guess this age issue is mostly directed against Nigerians for obvious reasons, especially for those whose visa's elapses and they fail to exit back home.

Different strokes for different folks!
I provided the "unnecessary" information to avoid going back and forth and having to provide additional information later. I thought it was necessary to be specific so that whoever is willing to provide me with the desired information would have a fair idea of my itinerary.
Anyways, like someone earlier teased, I'll get myself a tour guide. I thought the thread was meant to guide tourists not familiar with the UAE, no?
Asking for tourist destinations in the UAE is like a foreigner planning to visit Ikeja asking loosely for tourist sites in Nigeria. Is he willing to visit Calabar, Abuja or PH?
Thanks all the same, I'm out!

Re: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 5:05am On Dec 21, 2013
@icon8.................A quick addition to what has been suggested already by other forumites and special highlights of the cultural policies of the United Arab Emirate for tourist/visitors.

Enumerated below are tourist points of attraction to visit with your family when you arrive:

Liquor policy in Dubai
Visitors cannot buy liquor from liquor shops in Dubai. Only residence visa holders with a liquor permit can buy them. Visitors have to go to a bar in a hotel or to a nightclub to get liquor.

Tip: Buy liquor from the Dubai Duty Free shop on arrival.

Best way to travel around
Taxis are expensive in Dubai. Renting a car is the best option. This will give you the flexibility of visiting many places in Dubai. The other option is to use the shuttle service of the hotel where you are staying - though this limits the locations you can visit.
Dubai is a left hand drive state; that means the driving seat is on the left side of the vehicle. The road signs and traffic systems are very similar to those in the US.

Accommodation options
Dubai has a wide range of accommodation options. So do not spend unnecessarily on accommodation and save that money to enjoy your Dubai vacation. For an example, there are cheap but quality 3 star hotels in Dubai. If you are traveling with a big group then renting an apartment is the cheapest option. There are plenty of furnished apartments for short-term holidays. Do not let your travel agent limit your options.
Language
You will have to talk to many people (especially Arabs) during your holidays in Dubai. Arabic is the main language in Dubai - many people can understand and speak English as long as you make sure that you speak slowly for them to understand properly.

Dress Code
Unlike other Arabic countries, Dubai is flexible about the dress. Men and women can wear T-shirts and shorts. People are also allowed to wear
swimsuits at places like beaches, swimming pools etc. But it is not allowed to be Unclad or half Unclad. Women can wear clothes exposing legs, shoulders and midriff. However, you should not expose too much of yourself. Short tight skirts are also allowed. You may notice that local Arabic women in Dubai are usually dressed in the traditional black dress and head cover. However, it is not applicable to foreigners.

Where to go and what to do in Dubai
There are plenty of things to do and places to visit in Dubai. The following are MUST do things in Dubai:-

Desert Safari - This is a fantastic adventure trip to the Dubai desert. A 4WD vehicle will take you through the golden sandy dunes to a central camp in the middle of the desert. You will then have a barbecue dinner while enjoying the traditional belly dancing performed by young Arabic girls. Liquor is available to buy in this desert camp.
Camel rides and Dune bashing are some of the other activities you can do during the desert safari.
Tip: Your travel agent can arrange camping facilities in the desert. Spend the night in the desert if possible. It will be a truly amazing experience. Keep in mind that this has to be booked in advance.

Visit the Dubai Gold Market - This is the only place in the world where you could see tons (yes tons) of gold in jewellery shops without a single security guard. Some necklaces are so big you wonder how a person can wear them comfortably!

Burj Al Arab 7 Star hotel - This is a truly luxury hotel. You cannot just walk in. You need to buy a ticket to go and see the inside of the hotel.
Tip: There are restaurants for the public inside the hotel, for which you need to buy a voucher.

Ski Resort- Dubai has the world’s largest artificial Ski resort. It is worth visiting this resort even if you are from the North Pole.

Wild Wadi Water Park - This is a place where both kids and adults can enjoy water rides. There are fantastic adventure rides such as almost a free fall from 25m heights. This theme park is using the latest technologies. You do not have to walk from one ride to another as they are linked to each other. You must visit this place especially if you have kids.

Eat Shawarma - Shawarma is the Arabic version of the wrap. This is one of the Arabic foods you should taste while in Dubai.

Shopping
A holiday in Dubai is not complete without shopping. Here are the best shopping malls in Dubai:-

Emirates Mall, Deira City Centre, Wafi shopping mall, Lamzy Plaza, mirdiff city centre, ibn batuta mall, dfc mall etc.

Have an enjoyable visit with your family.

Cheers.

Dubai Shopping festival begins from 2nd January to 2nd February, so if you intend to shop for shoes, clothing, kids wear, electronics.

Then plan towards coming within those periods because all malls will be on sale and cheap prices which attracts more tourists to dubai during this period.

Etihad airlines with this number: +23412120231 or +2348099122384 is not correct, I have tried calling this line severally but its not going through. We can reach them on this line 08129112356, 57, 58, 59. or at their office at Church gate, Victoria Island, the second one 11th floor. or check on their site. Although I have length that their Visa section is handled directly with the UAE immigration department so is a beat of rules and strict regulations. www.ttsuaevisas.com. check for your self and apply online directly to them and also keep a track update on the status.

For someone who really want to have a feel of Abu Dhabi, you will spend a whole day at the Ferrari World and you can not finish the existing games in there. you will ride on the world fastest roller coaster, ride on the gee force where will experience at a glance the whole of UAE. The is a ridding above Italy and so much
Emirates Palace Hotel. where the Emiraties and presidency, Prime ministers are lodged. its made of gold, with Gold ATMs.
