That is the body language from Etihad airlines, but, you can approach Emirates airlines and find out their age requirements, although, there are other tour agencies that can sponsor your visa applications, but, you might pay heavily and in-some cases they might demand security deposit from you because of the large number of illegal immigrants in the UAE that fail to exit back to their home country at the expiration of their visa.

Thats the age limit etihad has said; infact lately they have informed applicants with different age limits but you can check with Emirates as adviced and see what they have to say about their age requirements.

i think the new age requirement is very selective, because my cousin just get 4 days stop over visa and hr is just 20 years and i and my friend just applied for the 14 tourist and we both get it and we are both less then 25, my friend is already there for the new year,

@abbakacici

This is what a senior UAE border official told me:

1. Both the 96hours (4days) and the 14days tourist visa can be issued without much barriers irrespective of age.

2. The 1month tourist/visit extend -able visa is the big problem, according to him, it was discovered that the 1month tourist/extendable visa is what most immigrants are banking on to seek for employment in the UAE, because your resident/work permits can only be processed by the UAE immigration once you secure a job with the 1month extendable visa, and it was also discovered that most immigrants prefer the 1month extendable tourist/visit visa because they have no intention of abiding by the condition of their visa, hence, the hard stance by the government and the age regime that has been introduced.

3. You cannot work with the 14days tourist visa, no employer in the UAE will offer you a job with a 14days tourist visa.

4. It was discovered by border officials that most immigrants that arrived the UAE with the 1month visit/tourist visa didn't exit back to their home country, so many tour agencies/airlines have been fined/blacklisted by the government based on this.

5. The UAE data bank has record of all legal residents, but, those who are illegal are not in their system, and majority who are illegals cut across different ethnic groups, he also told me that they also discovered that some people arrived legally, couldn't find a job, decided to remain illegal for years in the UAE, some of them commit crimes and travel back to their home country with another passport, he said they will close all the loop holes, and that anybody that wants to exit from the UAE will be screened properly to find out when and how they entered the country.

6. On arrival, border officials capture your finger print/lris (eye contact), but, when departing they don't capture you again, he said this is where the abuse is coming from and that they will plug all the loop holes, but, he declined to reveal to me how they will go about it.

7. If they implement it the way he told me, then it will be a hell of problem for so many illegals across the UAE, it means they might be trapped here till thy kingdom comes and wont be able to go back to their home country.

@radiosocial...............it is unfortunate what few illegal immigrants has caused, and as we march to EXPO 2020, more changes might be introduced across the 7 emirate, already the impact of the EXPO 2020 is gradually been felt now, my close associate/friends who work in the real estate sector of the economy told me that since the UAE won the EXPO 2020, statistics made available across the 7 emirates shows that the prices of accommodation/office rental has jumped up by 20% because big corporations/organisations/industries across the globe are entering the UAE to set up businesses before 2020, so they are pursuing a subtle agenda to sanitize the society before EXPO 2020, hence, you can see the age issue, l do feel for genuine travelers that will be affected in this cross fire.

The Expo may bring more jobs...anybody in the UAE like you stand to benefit more. Is there no way to make Nigerians behave legally? A friend of mine in Nigeria Immigration told me that in his 7yrs of service they are yet to arrest any American with expired document.

Every society makes laws/rules/orders that will protect their overall interest, the UAE is no exception, the only way to become legal here in the UAE is to either be gainfully employed, schooling or doing private business with both your work/residence permit, although, we have illegals in almost every country on planet earth, the Western world are not exempted, but, you have to factor what some of this illegals do and get away with.

l am not a spokesman for the UAE,but, if you have visited the UAE before, visit Deira and it environs and see all the dramas/illegality been perpetuated by different ethnic groups, it is not about Nigerians alone, almost every ethnic group is involved, what we tolerate with illegal immigrants in Nigeria is/cannot be accepted else where, so the UAE wants to sanitize the system, more especially with the whole world coming here on/before 2020, they want to make the place more friendly to genuine expat workers /students/visitors/tourist/investors.

Lastly, l will not encourage anyone to be illegal here, the consequences are not too good, it could be (fine+ brief arrest + jail(depending on how long you have been illegal+Deportation+ Outright banned) from entering the United Arab Emirates.

Using Master "Debit" Card in UAE
If the card is linked to your savings or current account in Nigeria then it's an EMV card. It will only be accepted by an EMV-compliant ATM. These EMV cards are different from your prepaid cards like the UBA Africard. Prepaid cards will be accepted on all ATMs but they are less secure.

ADCB* ATMs accept and process payments on Master "debit" card. (*Abudhabi commercial bank)

Any ATM with a "red debit card" logo will accept Master "Debit" card.

UBA Master card has a daily limit of 150,000naira.. That's a little more than 3200aed. One good feature is that you get a printout of your nigerian account balance in AED.

If you use your master "debit" card on non-EMV ATMs you will get a transaction declined or invalid transaction.

Free calls on your roamed Etisalat number in UAE

Roaming is activated by default on Etisalat lines.
Recharge your Etisalat number with 5000 naira before leaving Nigeria.
With 5000 naira in your account, you can receive free calls on that number here in UAE for 30 Days and you'd still have 5000 naira balance.

Not from a UBA bank, but, from other Local banks, we have different banks (local banks) spread across the 7 emirates that can facilitate the transaction for you in conjunction with your local bank in Nigeria, l wont be able to make an official statement about this because different banks with different transaction policies, you can also open a current account here with a recommendation letter from your home country's bank. When you arrive, you can scan round for different banks and gather all the relevant informations, the banks will be in a better position to tell you more than what you might get here.

Because I don't intend carrying my BTA everywhere I go,so I wouldn't be tempted to mis use it...u knw nah, with cash with u can easily pay for what u don't want..
So intend depositing it into d bank in Dubai,to avoid such
Only when I need it ,I make withdrawal,to minimise my spending

ln my personal opinion, when you arrive, after you have secured a job, you can approach any of the banks within the UAE and open an account with anyone that you like, meanwhile on arrival, you can open an account with Emirates Bank just like was suggested to you few weeks ago by another forumite, you can open an account with your visit/tourist visa with l think a minimum of 5000AED with Emirates Bank.

Secondly, although, you can search/scan different banks and see the one that will be friendly to you in doing business, every bank does have a unique edge over others and l cannot make a generalise statement as per which bank you should deal with. lastly, securing a job within 2months should be your utmost priority/prayers and not the issue of opening a bank account, when you secure a job with all your papers intact, it gives you the peace of mind to open 100accounts if you so wish lol cheesy, so concentrate more on securing a job.......after securing a job every other thing will be added to you like silver, gold, buildings, assets, investments, diamond, pretty ladies.lol cheesy...if you believe......
