According to my cousin, it seems mr X works with a company that hires expatriates for companies in dubai, that is why he is not sure of the particular job opening that will be available as at when his visa will be ready. He (my cousin) has made contact with the 2 guys mr x brought over. One works with a fast food joint, with accommodation and a meal per day. He is paid an equivalent of 81,000 per month. The second guy works with the security department of a big hotel. He said his work is to sit in a room and monitor cctv cameras. He is paid 90,000 per month, with accomodation and transport.

That was why I included the last paragraph of my first post since he has verified that it is not scam.

I have some odd feelings that the said company mr X works for do deduct a percentage from the said salary. I also want to know how easy it will be to find another job in dubai after the expiration of the said 2yrs contract.

@henrimoto............the truth is bitter,but all the same we still have to tell the truth, the writer, Justwise,goodtalk and other contributors have told the OP the truth, we all mean well for him, l hope he picks the diamond properly from all our counsel, we don't want him to lose such an amount of money, that is why we are all here to advise and direct him properly, l guess he must have seen reason with our counsels.......

@phranco........l think you will make profits, but you have to go for very cheap and quality attires, just to let you know that recently Nigeria customs increased the freight charges per kilo from #250 naira to #400 naira and this has also affected the profit margins of lots of importers whom l know....l would have suggested you go to Dubai, buy few things maybe half of your budget and see how it goes, from there you will be able to make a good judgement/decision....goodluck..

l think the standard procedure when travelling to a country where you don't have a residence permit, is to buy a return ticket, l also think you should declare your BTA if asked by immigration/customs/airline officials, if you don't declare it and they search you and find it, you will either be forced to part with some bribe or they might deliberately delay you and you miss your flight, comport yourself very well, and answer their questions intelligently, don't be nervous, since you have the visa already, but my only worries is the one way ticket you have,they might want to use that to get something from you, hope you have hotel reservation at hand to show them?...........l hope this suggestions answers your questions?......enjoy your trip....!!!!

concerning ur one way ticket, when u get 2 d airport, u will b ask 2 provide an employment letter 2 dat effect. or else u will b delayed. c wat u will do, u can get d employment letter around d airport there like 5k naira. i dont no if u can get it 4 a lesser amount outside d airport.. why i am telling u dis is, no go let dem call 20k naira 4 u. and bros, comport urself very well, if nt dem go chop u mugu. On t'he pta issue its not a problem if they ask go ahead and tell them t'he amount u have afrall its just 160,000 { 1000$} na small money, secondly t'he immigration do not ask if u are flying on a one way or return ticket, its t'he airline that will check and be cos ur visa is a 5yrs visa they might not distube u {if i may ask i hope u made proper enquirey at t'he airline office before u bought t'he one way? If dey agreed to fly u on just one way then no shaking} and finally i assume that your qatar visa is mostly written in arabic abi no be so? Immigration wouldent border that much just be formal and polite and u will be okay, and lastly because you declared your pta when asked is not a yastick to be dishing out money to them o! Infact dont realise a kobo to any of them!! u can read some of my old posts on dealing with immigration at t'he airport, u might learn one or two things from there. Shalom!

My cousin also read thru the inputs and was the one that raised this question. He was like it will most certainly amount to spending close to same thing if he goes that way. . Oga u are getting it twisted! Let me break it down for u so u can undertand what d' general house is saying. 1, one month visa ± return ticket is about N150,000. If your brother arrives dubai and gets a job in one month, then his employers will help him preaper his employment letter/employment visa and provide a a one way ticket for him to return back to dubai, his return cost will be bourn by his employer, pls read t'he post of valentony it might help u some more. And secondly if your brother is employed his employers may give him his employment visa and tell him to go to neigbouring country like oman then re enter dubai with his new work visa instead of flying 5 or 6 hours back to nigeria. Again if your brother gets a job in dubai he may virtually not spend any extra dime of his money going forward as his employers will foot most of t'he bills, e.g flight, accomodation, feeding,cost of work visa processing! What t'he whole house is telling you is that ! Dont give t'he agent 500'000 let your brother go to dubai with t'he one month visa and try his luck!! On arrival in dubai he can link up with t'he agent if he so desires, and maybe network with him to get a job swiftly if he has t'he know how! Peace!!
