Royal2011: Pls note that our ranking will only surge after consideration of the AFCON matches. What helped us were some of the friendliest we played before AFCON.By next month we should climb to about 15th position in the world. The nations cup just ended so the matches were not put into consideration. This ranking was for the month of February. So lets wait till match before we complain ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Over the bar. The result of matches go into the ranking algorithm the moment the match commissioner files. The only way we can move higher in the short term is either by playing friendlies very quickly or waiting for a higher ranked country to slide past us due to bad results or inactivity. |

agabaI23: I think the influence of our win will be reflected in the March Ranking because the Feb ranking was based on January performances of the countries. You can agree with me that most of the countries above us now like CV, Mali and Ghana were still doing very well in the competition. We eliminated both Mali and CV in Feb. Ghana was also eliminated in Feb. i think i agree with u |

vandarsar: Mali is playing good or are you a kid who just started following soccer yesternight? Mali was number three in Africa by default last year and they cement that with a smooth qualification to this year nations cup where they still manage to retain their 3rd position in Africa. Remember your own super eagle had one of the worst year in her football history last year and that's why we had to drop so low on the table. To me, apart from the North Africans on their good day, Malians are the nearest to Nigeria's traditional free-flow style (which we lost for many years and only just rediscovered). Those guys are skilful and pass around. You can see what their WestHam guy, Modibo Maiga, was doing with our defenders before we found our rythm. Malians have good footballers. I don't know why they don't do better. Player for player, we were hardly better than them, but we always beat them. |

tcalc: this was the post i quoted initially which has nothing to do with w/c or qualfn, but rather ironic to the thread. in ur attempt to escape ur guilt u posted the other. apparently u wish to persistently show ur inadequacies; ur disability is not physical as i know its very hard at times for people with so much obstinacy like u to admit mistakes filled with idiocy. One advice I have for you is this: When you're in a hole, stop digging. Admit you've made a foool of yourself and stop worsening your case. Here, let me quote that post of mine and highlight the essential points to boost your slow brain up to speed: Ejiné: Mehn, I think NFF should grow some cojones and set us up on friendlies with 'the big guys' like Germany, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Portugal etc. Let me spell it out for you: What I'm essentially saying in that post, is that with regular friendlies against the aforementioned teams, our confidence and general performance would improve overall, helping us easily win tournaments or finish at respectable positions in those tournaments. "With confidence, we won't lose" simply means that when we have our winning mentality with us, we'll easily overcome the stiffest adversary Nowhere in that post did I say anything about us just playing against them for meaningless rankings. It was your dull shallow mind that arrived at that idiiotic conclusion. The posts you foolishly mixed it up with, were the preceding two where I talked about Nigeria jumping 22 points. Do you now see how foolish you are? In your haste to rebut me and sound important, you've only worsened your case by still digging when you're already in your hole of stupiidity. Haven't you asked yourself why no-one here even agrees with your dull posts? My dear, the joke is fully on you. |

agabaI23: Thank you for the infor. I actually started with 'I think' which makes my post a hypothesis. I went further to explain what I thought. Thank goodness you have the right information. It doesn't warrant your disparaging everyone though. Thanks |

chingyjant: What is the basis for your disagreement? I see a lot of innuendos and conjectures in your response. Winning a tournament, qualifying for a tournamant, coming first, second, third in any tournament does not win points for any country. It is individual matches that count. Further calculations for averages for the year and previous three years are also made to determine current point. That is the scientific way of doing the rankings. For example, If a country plays the so called grade A team and loses, the average point goes down (lower than the previous points) while a country that does not play any friendly retains the same point. Hon. Lord:You are wrong on this. Football perfomance is not directly propotional to population figure! I keep telling people this, if so, China that has 1Ox our population should be able to produce 70 different teams! Conversly Cape verde with a population of 500,000 ought not 2 have qualified in the first place. Mind you, the bulk of super eagles players always emerge from SE/SS. Football is mix of several factors like culture, sociopolitical and economic factors. |
