A USAID Donor-Funded company contracted to develop communication for Healthy Communities requires the services of experienced Nurses and Midwives.

The goal of the Communication for Healthy Communities [CHC] activity is to contribute to
improved health outcomes: specifically, to a reduction in new HIV infections, total fertility,
maternal and child mortality, malnutrition, malaria, and Tuberculosis. Communication for
Healthy Communities’ strategic objective is: increase adoption of healthy behaviors
through strengthened health communication.

In summary, the successful applicant will:

• Enhance knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and norms relating to key health issues and interventions among priority target groups for HIV/AIDS, family planning, maternal and child health, nutrition, malaria and TB interventions;

• Work with and strengthen CHC technical capacity to design, execute and evaluate high quality health communication initiatives; and

• Work with and strengthen the capacity of multiple implementing and service delivery partners to design, execute and evaluate enhanced health communication initiatives.
• Providing on the job training for health personnel in hospitals and training centers;
• Contributing to Knowledge Management activities; such as supporting and facilitating stakeholder documentation and dissemination activities;

Qualification:
Candidates must be a Nurse or Midwife with a minimum of 5-years' experience in Health programme or service delivery in a developing country. S/he must have a post graduate qualification in Public or reproductive health or other related discipline. A good understanding of the Nigerian clinical training systems as well as knowledge of the National strategies relating to midwifery and education is required for this position.

S/he must have an extensive knowledge and understanding of operations in the Nigerian Healthcare delivery system. A good knowledge of capacity building tools and approaches, good communication and organizational skills are essential for this position.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:
The appointment term will be for a period of 5 years for the position, with an initial 6 months probationary period. The programme offers very competitive salary packages. Local terms and conditions will apply.
