Due diligence is necessary because the bank and security outfit want to know what the funds are meant for.ie whether its payment for transportation of military hard ware to the extremists,whether the funds is round tripping from several accounts and meant for purchase of hard drugs.My advice to you is to get details of your other account and similar transactions and go to the bank with your lawyer.Where there is unnecessary delays you can sue the bank,you folks need to start fighting for your rights.peter 08033589393

@OP; I don't think you need to close your acct. They have done the best thing. Your acct is new and a huge amount is involved. Pls beware of any bank that does not query any strange inflow to your acct. It's not safe for you. And I know it only happens for the first time. Subsequent ones will not be as this. Pls take. Let me know how it goes or if u need clarification.

I still insist they have done what is expected of them. 2M is a strange inflow to your acct and being the first time, they have the right to investigate the source of fund, knowing that western union transactions are being taken over by yahoo yahoo boys. I bet u it won't happen again but 1st time is inevitable. Enjoy and pls be careful wt that money. Big boys are in town everywhere. May u not be a victim.

Its part of the process... The branch where the transaction was done would be contacted. Those will in turn contact the sender. Once that is cleared, you will be asked to come with your international passport, national I'd or drivers licence. Once you do that, then enjoy...
All these will take one or two days. No fears its all really genuine. Enjoy

Sorry for the situation,but the law permit CBN and all money transfer banks to investigate all incoming transfers of $10,000
and above ,if the transfer is SUSPICIOUS e.g probably this the first time you received this kind of foreign transfer into your
account.
However,it should not take them more than 3 days to resolve.
No banks have any right to seize any foreign transfer,they can only send a suspicious report to CBN if they strongly believe that the source
of the transfer is cloudy to them.
