Abuja National Stadium Main Pitch Grows With Shrubs. by Smooyis(m): 6:32pm On Mar 01, 2013
The Abuja National Stadium built under the regime of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at a whooping sum of $300M has degenerated so badly. The Stadium which is the most expensive and which has hosted important sporting events such as the all Africa Games is now a shadow of itself lending credence to Nigeria's poor maintenance culture. The main bowls of the stadium now grows with shrubs and the whole enviroment is covered with bush.
It is sad that a state of the art stadium which should be the pride of every Nigerian and which is located in the Federal Capital Territory is allowed to be in this state of disrepair.
Soon billions of Naira would be announced for its rehabilitation without anyone being sanctioned for such an unpardonable neglect. What a wasteful mentality!
