What is the greek word for God in that verse?
I am not surprised that Jehovah Witness are not in agreement with you in that area. They used 'a god' and they have been saying that Jesus is a lesser god, 'TON THEON'
Please I will need your explanation on the meaning of TON THEON HO THEOS
We will then compare,Exodus 7 v 1 where God made Moses god to Pharaoh
Psalm 82 v 6: I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High,And see if it has the same meaning as God used in John 1 v1; whether it is TO THEON or HO THEON and if it has any relationship with that of John 1 v 1.

I have told you to read your bible very well before discussing with Babs. There is no other gospellers that says Jesus is the only begotten son. If you go to the epistle of John too, you would see the same begotten and if Jesus happens to be the only begotten son, how come

Psalm 2 v 7 where God said to David:
"Thou art my son: this day have I begotten thee."

Also read 2nd Samuel 7v14, I Chronicles 22v 10 and Jeremiah 31v 9:

So who is the first born and could Jesus have been the only begotten son?


You still goofed here. If Jesus happens to be the only to the Father, why did he tell someone that that he would live for observing the commandments and why not tell him point blank that he would not gain paradise if he did not accept him (Jesus) as Lord and personal saviour?
Read Luke 10 v 25-28.

Also in the gospel of Matthew, a man walked up to Jesus and asked him what to do to gain paradise and Jesus told him to keep the commandment and the commandment Jesus mentioned here happened to be the one given to Moses (Matthew 19 v 16-17).
