Peter Jackson's movie ""The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" has become the 15th film in history to hit $1 billion in global ticket sales, not accounting for inflation. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is second Jackson film after The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1.12 billion). The movie is expected to collect more dollars as it's due to get digital release on March 12. Furthermore, the Blu-ray and DVD of the movie is scheduled to be made available for purchase starting March 19. Its follow-up "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" is scheduled to start viewing in theaters across the country on December 13 this year. "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" was just delayed from July 18, 2014 to December 17, 2014 to avoid clashing with "X-Men: Days of Future Past".
