In its full glory, the sun rules the sky; To drain all waters, its minions drop from high. Those dripping from our skins, are the only ones left; We wish we could drink them for we are bereft Of water, (and our throats super parched from this heat) But we dare not, because of the salt in it On the concrete walls the reptiles dare not crawl, For their bellies will burn till they fall. A losing war against this heat we are made To fight. Though we stay indoors and under shades To hide from its fierce and fiery gaze, Its hot flaming breath still sets us ablaze. To conquer, we put on armors by putting off our clothes; This heat, there's nothing more on earth we loath. Even our electric fans are of no use; For when put on, to blow cold they all refuse. With waters drained, our strength follows in order; In defeat, we slouch and schlep with drooped shoulders. At least we know if we do the laundry by Sunrise, before it sets they'll all get dry. .... 2 Likes |

Times change Seasons change As days roll by So do seasons stroll by Summer arrives in the fore-noon With good-tiding of crispy hair Nay bald oily reflections Of the sun above. Then comes the rains of terror Sweeping the filth of our streets Along with our homes and beds While innocent men peacefully sleep Floating o'er oceans and continents Only to sink in a pool of sweet sleep. One poem for the road A toast to a sunny day A toast to my burnt hairs A toast to my fellow poet Badmusace, I feel your pain. Cheers. 1 Like |

Lonely paddle On a calm wave Stroke after stroke The journey never ends Infinite sight hides Behind the sunset and The big yellow ball smiles At my face - where is home? East, West, North or South? Where is land? Under the ocean? I'm gonna loose my mind And... (Silence) Where am I? Desert-sea? 4 Likes |

Shh...silence must steal every place It's still the mid of the night no possessed baby must scream If... Where did the mother's tits go to the husband would ask, Infants soporing busy snoring with peas running all o'er their mats Adult mustn't argue Would rather keep quiet through out or else... Back-bitters just have to keep their untouched fellows' life talks Till it breaks Even prying parrots with all their talents keep their mouths gagged in dear nests So if you move, you move stealthily If you move and step on pieces of peaceful shells of silly snails You save the screams till it dawns If you dare scream no neighbour should come out to shout sorries You woke too early Couldn't sleep? Hardly could you switch on your DVD and TV sets to see some zombie season movies If... You just have to ameliorate the harms of their volubles To...let me say, two or three none dares thirty-three or so. O mid-night! Come o'er here am talking to you not yew I asked you to come o'er here Use your ear Here Sit there Yes that seat there Listen up dire Why must you be feared that much tell me ehn...? What is so so very very special herein your dirty darkness? Let go me friends, let me ask him He must be questioned it'd got too much ehn... Is he the only one? Why must we all keep quiet when it's mid-night and be free To shriek like Shrek when it dawns can't hack? Is it? I ask, is it? The night workers, the flutterers; white and worst witches which is Worth buying some booze to celebrate? A witch's a witch be it white or wicked but God's good n' great The thieves with sticks that vomits? The cultus campaigners carrying pots with cries; propitiating sacrifices? The ghosts? The deads that aren't dead? The skeletons buying shining skirts and big boys boxers? The spirits released to roam about; against? The animals walking like man? The... Damn it, this respect is too much hence there must be a change I must be able to scream in the mid-night too Play outside in the mid-night too Sleep outside in the mid-night too See clearly outside in the mid-night too Trek to anywhere in the mid-night too Not only when it's naught Those shall be possible am sure The day mount Kilimanjaro stands up and shout billions of "bonjour." 3 Likes |

My Beloved Fear. I think of the fears we had, How as a youngster they seemed to lay deadly grips on us, How we'd stay cramped in that little conner believing we were safe, How we shared our fears, How our cares shed pure tears, How time struck its deadly blow on our fears, How our cute fears died leaving behind arrogant confidence, And how our bound turned to dust, And how like ghosts, They disappeared, fluttering away like illuminated bats. We stepped into life believing we were invincible, Invincible to fear. Care became what fear was; Something to overcome. We stopped caring, So our fears did seize. Seating in that little corner, I did feel at ease, but I miss my fears, strange? I discovered what I really needed was one to care, and not to fear, I long to care. But in truth, they come in pairs. My cares lead to fear, Its a trick on life's sleeve, Can't have one without embracing the other, Its a load I am forced to bear. 4 Likes |

I wrote this few days ago, when my road was terribly fraught with anger, hopelessness and unbelief. But today? Oh well *shrugs* I stare into oblivion wishing for an end to this boredom The future they so speak about, wishing it'd kiss me already on my feet! 'This too shall soon pass' He says and hold my hands My feeble heart clenched at his parting word But now i feel its tearing pieces. All hopes tumbling in different forms - breaking like scattered pieces of the sand My feet are now weary and hurt gushing red water from where they pierce my soul - These sands of angry thorns Torn out from the bloom of my budding hope. I shall yet remain on this fall wishing the sands grow out as knives - cutting my mind Piercing my toes cutting my life Erasing my notes Drowning this wasted existence I seem to call life Leading me to the light of men's aftermath Where's the supernatural? I finally ask. This hope we build against every odds? These words we speak on growling knees? He who pours himself into our weaker bones? Where's the supernatural! Where's the supernatural! I scream! Then... A still small voice renders my soul stills the troubles of my broken hope 'I am here' it silently speaks 'Am the tiny whisper in a raging storm, I hear ur rant, i see your heart.' but now... Am still battling with unbelief. 4 Likes |

I'm more hurricane than human, When you lie to me. Intentionally. Painfully. You're in your mindset Only to drive me outta mine. Its only a matter of time Where unseen powers Converge subtly Sublime. So, Care for a spin? How fast are those wheels, Against a tempestous wind? Go. 3 Likes |

LIFE CAN BE SO RIDICULOUS. ...and life can be so ludicrous. Sinners shrieking they are saints Saints not knowing what they've n' not using their commands Dis-heartened states cos; caused of temptations Temptations cos of betterment, unknown reasons Being pious-pious Yet shame upon shame and disses by friendly fellows. Nothing happens for something Something wouldn't happen for aye nothing. Everything, starting from nothing has a reason But with you believing all will end well soon And with an effective faith it'll, soon. But life can be so ridiculous Why must your servant become your boss? Infants Dying whilst the ageds are busy playing chess Loosers Winning whilst winners Screeching ah! "O M G what have we done to deserve these?" Enemies Bobbling besides the faithfuls that are doing this Weeping pins and coarsed pebbles of bottles... Life can be so ludicrous. Some treatment in religion... When you worship in some church Traditional haven would better They'd give some treatment in religion To make your spirit feel numb ah! To realities ah! They'd ask you to hate every soul that hates you That you think that hates you Called 'em enemies They'd say These, they won't say 'em like that like that really... Hypocritical collars Treacherous teachers Move closer to 'em and with purer hearts and you'd marvel. An experiment with a poetic form called, VILLANELLE. It is basically a verse form ruNning on two rhymes and consisting typically of 5 tercets (3 lined stanza) and a quatrain (4 lined stanza) in which the first and third lines of the opening tercet recur alternately at the end of the other tercets and together as the last two lines of the quatrain. Enjoy below: POEM: NEVER MY LOVE SHOULD YOU LEAVE ME YET Never my love should you leave me yet Though you tire of me, like we've lived for ages Our love will soon be fresh like we just newly met. Though the rain through my ceiling beats you wet And at me your potent anger rages Never my love should you leave me yet For all shall soon be ready and set As the new government promises triple wages Our love will soon be fresh like we just newly met Even though in outings like a bashful teen I fret And I still stay locked in my many cages Never my love should you leave me yet For that old me shall fade, which I won't regret; I shall also break free like heroes in your book pages Our love will soon be fresh like we just newly met To your problems, answers I'll give like grey haired sages But all these won't be in a day, but in rapid stages So never my love should you leave me yet For our love will soon be fresh like we just newly met Saturday, Nov 9 7:28pm 2013. 2 Likes |

Will you hold on tight to sins that doth beset? The lingering pleasure of earthly realm? The scent of bitter-sweet temptation nigh? The one that feeds our hunger growl. Or... Throw in the chains, shackles freed? Burn in the fire, our sex.ual care? Strengthen the weakness of our mortal being? Hunger for power from celestial realm? The issues that plague our helpless soul! What we want, we do not do. What we do, we do not want. Caught in the grasp of hedonistic snare Falling through time, oblivion and fear We keep our trod to the claws of the dreaded beast. Our heart heavy our steps light - Hypnotized by the twinkles in the beasts eyes, Dragging with might to kiss those eyes... And... Alas we are burnt. Humans we are afterall. 1 Like |

The young trees weren't agog with winter snow As the leaves chose to wither than grow Wafting gently autumnal crocus to the frozen ground While the night birds carols in sonorous sound Yet it is garbed in prismatic glimmering ice All over the street it dazzles the eyes Of Dryad, then it heard the bell breaking the ambience As if the wind was arguing with silence Then the sound lead to another, then another - A cacophony deafened the air and shakened the order A man with a chainsaw needs a Christmas tree He sawed off the root and fissured it with glee A young lad - a sentry was stationed by the way He held his own star, lights and candies in a manner somewhat gay "Careful dad!" As the tree succumbed its teary droplets on dad Before making a fall that made Dryad sad But its Christmas isn't it? 3 Likes |

AT THE END OF A YEAR Our own version of winter: The morning fog afflicts us with temporary myopia; The early cold continually snoozes our alarms. Hence, more childbirth in September. The car zooms past us, leaving behind a mushroom of dust, which find homes on thirsty leaves and naked roofs. Wrinkled lips like dried tree barks; In between fingers and toes, ‘white’ strategically hides. Sometimes giving the illusion of a hastily powdered skin. Skit: On TV, a kid wails in betwixt laps of a grinning-rotund-black-white-bearded-man in loose fitted red and hat of same. Wasteful spending begins: My neighbour has starved all through the year, to fatten her purse. Only to empty its contents on stocks, needed and unneeded, to be demolished in two hurried gobbles! Every other year, she passes this same old torch to her 'old-new' self. Quick ascension period on the financial scale and all other weighted ills: Birthing houses scythed for day old young; The road lies in wait with an appetite larger than ever, Twisted metals and shards of jagged glass smeared scarlet are remnants from its daily meal, Still beings void of organs flank our roads; All forms of nappers device new means and revise old means for capture; Our own forceful and erratic aurora borealis, with showers of debris and disjointed beings, casts a gloomy shade all over. Why this sudden change? ‘Season Greetings.’ Now it all makes sense. |
