As we no longer have access to Stockmarket Tips, may be this can hopefully be the interim solution? Last post by Ijogbon: @aktopgun What say you about UBA? I remember you having a dialogue a few posts back about a 'frying pan bottom'? I think UBA is exhibiting the direct opposite of the frying pan i.e the dumpling top reversal.

Re: Nigerian Stock Market Views by aktopgun(m): 5:54pm On Mar 23, 2008 |
Omoba3: @ijogbon et omoba ijogbon o!!! u are spot on sir including about volume not supporting the pattern as needed. dumpling top it is but the last candle is almost a positive candle as it is almost a shooting star(the tail would need to be twice the length of the body for it to be fully a shooting star) after a downtrend, meaning that although the stock opened higher than its close (hence the red candle), the long upward shadow suggests renewing interest in the stock cuz fellas want to buy at a good price. in a dumpling top , this would suggest a failing of the pattern even after the gap down. i expect some improvement in the coming days for UBA based on this. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Market Views by Omoba3(m): 6:01pm On Mar 23, 2008 |
Togun: Peace at last! What do you think about Redstar? Considering checking out/taking profit.
|
Re: Nigerian Stock Market Views by aktopgun(m): 6:13pm On Mar 23, 2008 |
@omoba if u have hit ur target it may be wise to take some profit now cuz that last candle is a spinning top and would suggest a reversal to the downside soon. i hope our fellas and fellettes pick up on this thread soon u know |
Re: Nigerian Stock Market Views by Omoba3(m): 9:02pm On Mar 23, 2008 |
Togun: Thanks for your reply. You are a priceless gem. Since you are my tutor, occasionally you must to tutor your student, abi ke. Let's start with the redstar chart above, when do you take the previous days candle into consideration? You have highlighted the last candle as a spinning top which I acknowledge, but do the previous days candles in the same chart add to or make a difference to how the spinning top is deciphered? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Market Views by Omoba3(m): 9:29pm On Mar 23, 2008 |
I have some luggage in Betaglass. So I will use this as another opportunity to improve my reading of the candles: The volume traded on the previous trading day (Tuesday) before Thursday's trading indicates there were more buyers than sellers, but the Sellers were still able to bid down the price. By Thursday's trading day, there were (equal amounts?) or indecision between buyyers and sellers, hence we have a spinning top. Which would indicate that there will be a reversal of the downward trend either by the next trading day or days?. MACD is trending negative, so also is RSI going down, but Chaikin Money Flow is trending positive. How have I done so far??

Re: Nigerian Stock Market Views by ijogbon(m): 11:02pm On Mar 23, 2008 |
aktopgun: aktopgun I have taken a couple of looks at the sticks for UBA again and I do agree that the recent sticks have shown that the bears have refused to take advantage and take further control of the market. I suspect that the next few sticks are going to trend 'sideways' for a while probably testing or trying to breach the new former support which might have turned a new resistance. i wonder that the price will inch up too much seeing the lack of buyers in the market still. |

Happy Easter Folks! The tirade yesterday was nasty, worse than previous ones. Seun deleted the posts thankfully. Hello people, am here at last. Lets continue from where we stopped. What do we do tomorrow, is there and chance that the public holidays will cause the market to rebound with a fury on teusday? (the holiday factor) Which stocks will lead this upsurge, which stocks will likely continue their downward slide? |
