He is president, he calls the shot. Good or bad decision, everything would still falls back to him. Jonathan alone as our president can dictate direction he wants us to go. and we're surely moving in the direction he so much desires.

tomakint: Some people are just fond of acting up as if we don't know their antics, they will never see anything good in what the man (Goodluck Jonathan) of the moment is doing, yet they want us to see the Presidential Pardon as a very strange thing, while Umaru Dikko was pardoned under the same Presidential fiat, I wonder how many of these young ones that raised an eyebrow then, bunch of wicked souls pretending to see the light!

Like someone clearly noted, DSP Alams was the main target of the presidential pardon, all others were just auxiliaries to balance the equation. I believe Diya and co were already pardoned by Gen Abdusalami/ Nigerians when he released them. Now that he is pardoned, he can try visiting the United Kingdom.

We have a problem on our hands. We have a president that doesn't give a damn is insensitive and does not understand the import of the signals he is sending. Just the other day he said no amnesty for bh members.....we are all still trying to recover from the shock of the slap on the wrist plea bargain for yusuf broo haha then he grants a man that should still be behind bars a presidential pardon . No one should give me that it is his prerogative hogwash. Gej is the worst ever.

Have you not heard that whoever wields power should do so with a sense of responsibility?knowing fully well that whatever he or she does has everlasting effects on the morale of the subjects.
Have you considered the fact that this action of the president will open a floodgate of state pardon for convicted felons maybe in the future.I assure you that that singular action of Jonathan is an example of HOW NOT TO EXERCISE POWER.
But as the adage goes;a people get the government they deserve.So i wish you and all other supporters of this repulsive action goodluck.You are definitely showing good example to the future generation.

Where is dimeji bank ole, olu gbenga daniel, tinubu, olubumi etteh patricia, iyabo obasanjo etc. Are these not forbidden money launderers and criminals? First in GEJ bid to prove to the whole world that he's fighting corruption, he refused to declare his asset.

Secondly, He gave national honours to individuals who lack integrity.

Thirdly, He appointed a man who's so much immense in corruption as chairman Nigeria Ports Authority.

Now has pardon a convicted criminal, one whose crimes brought national shame to Nigeria.

What more will GEJ do for Nigerians to know that he doesn't give a rats ass about them! And that he's the true symbol of corruption!

How come Gen. Buhari, who's a member of the same council, supported the very same pardon? Afterall, it was unanimous. I wonder what CPC has to say about.

Anyway, I'm not in support of the pardon for Alams. He's a crook that deserves to be punished. But he had already done time in jail, and I believe some of his asset were siezed.
