Recently, I've discovered that almost all the people I asked to tell me the meaning of "PhD" including graduates failed to provide me with the right answers, so, I decided to consult the internet & share the answers with Nlanders, it could be of help.

ANSWER
"Philosophiae Doctor (Doctor of Philosophy)".

Doctor of Philosophy (PhilosophiƦ Doctor)
A person who has a degree and has
undertaken years of research and has
published their work and been assessed,
may be awarded a PhD and can use the
title of Doctor. This is a specialist degree
that is usually awarded for at least 3 years
of supervised, but original research work.
An advanced research degree that is
usually completed after doing a first
degree (eg a Bachelor of Science degree)
and an honours or masters
