Stop it.

Some Lagosians (who are indigenes of Lagos) can't say their "r", so they call it adie.

We Ekitis call it Adiye.
Omoge, Dayokanu wrote àdìre which means tie-dyeing (kampala). Talking about the Yoruba name of a fowl, yes you can call it adìye or adìe.
Hope you get that...

dayokanu:

Yoruba is a tonal language and it depends on the tone it comes out

Ogun means drug, Ogun means war, Ogun means Inheritance, ogun means 20, Ogun is also a river, Ogun is also a god of iron
You can never learn. What do you mean by yoruba is a tonal language why not tonic language. Adire is tie and dye. And u started mention all sort of ogun pronunciation.
Its either adiye or ediye.

I won't be surprised if the 'y' in 'Adiye' is replaced with an 'r' in some dialects and not pronounced 'Adire' as in 'Kampala' but like 'Adiye'. It is very possible. I have heard some very strange dialects from Osun State.

I think they are the Aláìgbédè type. Won ò gbó ìjìnlè yorùbá. I ll not say it was caused by a twist in their tongue. Won ò gbó èdè ni.
