Massob Respond To Tension In Onitsha by NegroNtns(m): 4:40am On Mar 20, 2013 |
Leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, on Tuesday said there would be no reprisal on northerners in the South-East following Monday's bus bombing in Kano where more than 30 people were reportedly killed.Calling for calm, Uwazurike said, "We are not known for bloodletting and Ndigbo cannot be cowed into shedding blood but we want an end to this senseless bloodletting of the Igbo in the North in whatever name called."The MASSOB leader's assurance came as Hausa residents in Onitsha shut their shops and fled the city for fear of reprisals.Non-indigenes, mainly northerners, closed all their business premises at the Head Bridge Market and other parts of the city to seek protection in various security stations including the Army barracks in the city and police stations.Chairmen of Ndigbo Unity Forum and Anambra Traders' Forum, Augustine Chukwudum and Dede Uzor, condemned the attack in Kano, describing it as barbaric and threat to the country's unity. They also praised the prompt intervention of the Commander, 302 Army cantonment, Onitsha, Col, T Gagariga; Navy Commander A. Ahmed and the Onitsha Area Police Commander, Mr. Benjamin Wordu for calming the tensed situation in Onitsha.Chukwudum said, "We call on the Federal Government to declare a state of emenergency in Kano, Borno, Gombe, Yobe and Adamawa states."That is the only option left to stop these killings of Ndigbo in the northern states of Nigeria. We call on Federal Government to compensate the families of those who lost their loved ones in the attack. Let security men take full control of the situation and provide security for Ndigbo in the North." |

thank you Uwazuruike. The solution to ndigbo massacre in north is for ndigbo to demand relocation clause. |

What are igbo senators doing in the senate. Put pressure on fg for guarded relocation and call for a referendum in the south east. We are tired of Nigeria. We want an igbo only country. |

Ibo people cannot retaliate because they know that they will not win. There are only few hausas in South East compared to the flood of ibos in the north. retaliation is illogical and will only lead to intense counter-retaliation in the north and they know it!! spare me the "we are not known for bloodletting" crap. For once ibos are using their brains and taking logic into consideration next step following logic will be for them to actually LEAVE the north. but I hope the refugees don't come to Lagos sha. lol because i know for a certain that none of them will go back to Iboland. no matter how loud they shout and talk about biafra. mtcheww |

Re: Massob Respond To Tension In Onitsha by cfours: 5:50am On Mar 20, 2013 |
igbo country will not solve your problem and will only make it worse. the problem you guys have right now is the fact that you have a large population outside iboland which makes you a target. as long as your people continue to live in large numbers outside your region, the situation will stay the same. and if igboland becomes a country, these folks will become illegal immigrants and therefore violence against them will be even more unchecked. how can you call for ibo country when you can't even convince your people to settle in their region. what you should do is look at other tribes, see the level of population they have outside their region and keep your own migrant population within that range. then come back and see if your problem doesn't disappear. very simple solution. 3 Likes |

ΔΔΔΔ So what is your solution? |
Re: Massob Respond To Tension In Onitsha by cfours: 6:17am On Mar 20, 2013 |
saintneo: ΔΔΔΔ Igbos like to compare themselves to Jews for the mistreatment they face. But one thing they fail to omit is that jews were famous for living all across Europe among other people and segregating themselves within those host communities which then made them a target. they had their own special religion and rules and failed to follow the rules of their host communities. this built up hatred against them. it's either you integrate within the community you live in (ie if the northerners are very islamic then you have to live by their rules since you are living amongst them). either that or don't live in the north at all! otherwise, all you will do is make yourself a target. esp when your population starts to get high that those people see you as a threat to their established traditions and culture. look at other tribes in nigeria, how many of them have high population outside of their region? maybe try to keep your migrant population within a similar limit. that way, your problems will not be greater than any other tribe in Nigeria (as you like to say). Even the most developed countries that tout human rights like USA etc also are hostile to foreigners (or even citizens) who do not assimilate/integrate well. this is very natural human nature. The reason things are different in SW is because we are a mix of muslims and christians/ modern and traditional and so we accept northerners relatively well and also accept easterners well. but the tension between north and east is greater. 2 Likes |

Slow venom: you ar right bt do u knw hw much it wil cost u 2 import ur major fuds like yam and fruits 4rm de north or dn't u put dat in2 consideration? ...wat a countryThe only advantage of Nigeria to ndi igbo is the big market (population). However we cannot keep risking our lives in this nation. Other nations want to drag us into their foolish path (that only guarantees stagnation and systematic destruction). If we cant have access to the Nigerian market. I don't see why we should remain the same country. And be constantly associated with nut heads. Nigeria is a lost cause politically. The only benefit to ndi igbo is the market. If you tell us to leave your territory, we might as well leave Nigeria. 1 Like |

c.fours: Most Igbos in the north cannot and will not survive in Igbo land, so the issiue of them leaving the north is not a realistic option. All the Igbos you hear making noise noise that the Igbos in the north should return have never stepped out of their region. The problem is that those that come to the north, keep feeding lies and horrible stories about how they survive in the north to avoid other members of their families/communities to come and join them for greener patures. I know of many Igbos who served (NYSC) in the north, enjoyed the accomodating nature of northerners, and refused to return to the east after their POP. Some of the ladies even got married in the north. One of my girl frnds, an Igbo corper, has said she won't go back after her service. My dear Igbo brothers and sisters, the north is not as horrible as you all imagine. Don't stick your arsses over there in the east and believe anyrhing you are being told. Come over and see for yourself, the lovely, accomodating, relatively peaceful North, and you shall not regret it. |

^ shut up. a review of your previous posts suggest that you are nothing short of a omo-ibo. why are you ashamed to claim your tribe? Dibiachukwu: do you read the news at all. I've met people from all parts of Africa and they always have nothing but negative things to say about the "nigerians" in their countries. of course I put nigerians in quotation because these folks are mostly of ibo tribe. they tell stories of their experience ranging from 419 to much worse. last time I heard about SA, they were deporting Nigerians from there. so please, enlighten yourself. we have horrible reputation all over. Nobody likes ur folk. How will One Nigeria or Two Nigeria prevent your people from flocking to the north? Please focus on the issue/problem at hand which is the ibo migration pattern. In fact, at least with one nigeria, we don't have to deal with an illigal immigrant problem. because killing will be much worse when you are no longer citizens. funny though, that when I ask them what positive thing they like about nigerians, they mention owambe parties, gele and RCCG (yoruba!!) we are just more people oriented and social. |

If you also look at other african countries jail population. I won't be surprised if ibo count is extremely high. they are killed and put in jail by the numbers. that is what will happen in Nigeria if biafra gains independence because Nigeria will have to find a way to kick them out of our country since they will become illegal immigrants. 1 Like |

Even now,we can't win any election if foreigners vote differently. Anyway, let every man go back to their place. We don't like how they have dominated our oil industry and plotting everyday to move it to Lagos. When Lagos develop their new oil,i'm sure they won't even employ any of us as gate men talk less of being the managers. But they dominate our own oil why?? |

Dibiachukwu: To me, Yoruba is the one playing the devil's advocate role to keep Nigeria together by spreading false information. They are terrified about living in their place.Go to Woji in Port Harcourt and see how they have been up rooting the locals to buy up every piece of land and make us slaves with our own oil money. They want to be reaping where they did not sow. I'm watching to see how many Niger Deltans are employed when Lagos produce oil as they claim. |

Some of them come up with funny user names like Tomakint, Malawian, Ogoni militant, Ikwerre militant and now warri_pikin. I can tell you that 6!0% of ashawo you meet in Delta, PH and Bayelsa are from south east and they are mostly from Imo, Ebonyi and Enugu. Hardly you find Anambra girl or Abia girl doing ashawo. They usually disguise by speaking Yoruba and you'd think they are from southwest. Most of them graduates from Lagos before moving to other parts of the country. What about the street ashawo you meet in Abuja? Kaduna? |
