I woke up this morning to this sad event

What do I do to get the blog back

Looks like a new policy to me, I never heard of google disabling a blog. Like the earlier response, that's google for you and I don't think there's much you can do about it. Best things is for you to get your own Domain name you can be in control of or move over to wordpress altogether.

I was planning to get a domain new this week, is it possible to still move my contents from my blog to the domain name?

Hope you saved your articles and images. Google rarely re-activates deleted accounts, but you might be lucky.

short answer : if you dont have a backup, you will have to start afresh. (even with backups sef)

long answer : write them at and see if they can let you copy your files off. not likely though

i'll advice you move over to wordpress...
I used to use blogger and so far have created more than 20 blogs just for you to know i have lots of experience with it but nothing compares to Wordpress when it comes to CMS. The downside is, you need to spend a little bit more for Wordpress hosting besides buying a domain name, so that makes blogger cheaper to start and maintain but if you're going for quality, you would opt for the Wordpress Platform which is more dynamic.

To my surprise, Google has given me back access to my blog.
