The news media in Canada has been awash with the reports since June 2012 when
the two University of Regina students took refuge in a church hoping that
the Canadian authorities will forgive them for working in Walmart for two weeks.
The issue here is that the student visa they carry permits them to work on
campus but not outside. The students have in their various interviews stated
that they stopped the Walmart jobs immediately they became aware of the restriction.
But the Canada authorities have simply refused to budge.

A lesson for all
Canada has a government that functions properly, unlike Nigeria. If you break the rules, they kick you out. End of story. No bribery, no 'my big Oga will make a phone call', no exchanging sex for special treatment, no 'accidentally' loosing documents, etc, etc.
This should be a lesson to all Nigerians who leave the country. Just because you do somehow here, you can't do it in other places.

Who is to Blame?
In Canada when you are issued a student visa is clearly started that you cannot work outside of the university unless permitted. Ignorance isn't an excuse to break the rules. They refused to respect the conditions of their visa and the Canadian Government is strict when it comes to things like this.In Canada they follow the rules. This is clearly laid out on the Canadian Immigration web site.
The Canadian minister of Immigration (Mr. Kenny) states that the two girls are not students, whereas the consultant says that they were both enrolled at the university. So which is true? It seems one of them has not attended a class for some time and the other has only taken a couple of classes the last couple of semesters and we have to question what are their real motives in Canada?.. Are they suspended in school? And as such no longer fit the criteria as students!

Scratching head
The President of Nigeria should save two Nigerian youths from being returned back to Nigeria? (Scratches head and sighs)
Finally, we all agree that Nigeria is a place where the citizens must do everything in their power (including calling on the President) to prevent its children from returning too.
The Nigerian President will call the Canadian Ambassador and say "please do not send our children back to us. Our universities are terrible, our land is violent. Biko, sorry for our children and keep them in your land. Nagoda"".
Goodluck with that senario!!!!!

DEPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY
How did they come to Canada? Who are their parents? Let us find out how their parents get the money to sponsor them to Canada. For the past few years many Nigerian thieves have been sending their children to Canada to study with a trick to make them stay and become citizens, these parents are ignorant of what is going on here. These children at the end of the day are left alone on their own, some become prostitute, some armed robbers whilst some end up in Psychiatric homes. There are lots of Nigerians here who are in messy situation. Nigerians are known in Canada here as criminals though not all. But the name Nigeria is synonymous to criminals here and in the USA. PLEASE LET THEM DEPORT THESE TWO GIRLS TO NIGERIA or what is the difference between those schooling in Nigerian and those schooling in CANADA or USA?

Culled from saharareporters

Why do we Nigerians always like the highway ? You broke the law and now calling on your president to come and free you.I suppose with the way jonathan granted amnesty to Alams, someone somewhere may have thought he could grant amnesty to these girls too.

Abeg deport them sharp sharp to their region.Bunch of bad folks always putting the country in the bad news !

Na by force to stay for Canada. They should come back to Nigeria Jare. Who knows they might make it big back here just that they'll lose out in their studies back there but remember, where's there's life, there's hope.

They should have just kept to the rules and worked within the school premises. The outright deportation verdict is too stiff imo. I'm sure there are thousand others breaking immigration laws. Those two were just unfortunate scapegoats, pity.
