lymelyte: i have been experiencing this sudden breach of network on mtn.I am using a Q10 and for like 3 days now,i have been unable to browse nor ping.The worse part of it is that i recently subscribed..NO EDGE NO H NO 3G.is there any solution?
Also,i subscribed today for glo midweek plan,i restarted my fone and nothing has change.my fone has been in the state it was ever since.
my sms on my glo line has refuse to send.It is showing network out of order.Please guys is there any solution?

vicope: I bought the BB Q10 for my sister yesterday.......but the internet service has been giving her problems.
First I subscribed for the weekly complete plan on etisalat, it didn't work on the Q10 but worked when I inserted the sim in my curve 9360 (though it was difficult to set the sim properly cos of the micro-sim size)....again we had to cut an MTN sim into micro size and subscribed for the weekly complete plan, the bbm worked fine bt they deducted her airtime whenever she used the browser.

Finally, the phone only recieves calls but don't make outgoing calls. I got the phone brand new from Slot in Abuja. I wonder why all these are happening?

I have advised her to visit either the MTN connect store or Etisalat Experience center for help.

May I also add that though the q10 has a wonderful graphics and screen, I am of the opinion that the functionability of the phone is a little too complicated. I'll choose my curve 4 over the q10 over and over again.....my opinion anyway!

error 101, BB10 plans are different from normal bb plans, so try to use the bb10 plans and it will work flawlessly

the contact name not showing in SMS is a region thing, i expect it should get fixed with time and yes, its because smart dialing is not set up properly in NIgeria. what happens is if you save contact the traditional way, the name will not show in SMS because SMS numbers come in full international format (+234.....). if you save your contacts in international format, when calls come in in traditional format, then the name wont show

i have used my Z10 in the USA and i can assure you it is not like that because they have a more structured database

I just googled the BB10 plans and confirmed what u said about having a seperate plan for BB10, but the data cap is really small compared to the normal BB plans except for the unlimited BBM. Bro, I swear I still prefer my Curve 4 with etisalat, I download the whole world and my BIS remains intact.

Please will this BB10 plan solve the problem of not being able to make outgoing calls? thanks!

Downloaded OS 10.1.0.4651 for STL100-1 and smart dialing option has been included. Issue resolved.

you see yourself? you use the two networks that intentionally block regular BIS plans from working on the BB10 and you come here to complain about the phone rather than the networks

I will suggest your sister switch to Airtel BIS plan..it will work flawlessly

amadika: I think the Glo bb10 midi plan (N1400 for 2gig data) is manageable compared to what MTN and Etisalat is offering.

like @Amadika said, MTN and Etisalat have intentionally blocked regular BIS from working on the BB10 devices to force BB10 users to shell out more money for data plans....Glo and Airtel on the other hand have no qualms with the Z10 so their BIS plans work on the Z10. refer to my original post on this thread for guidance on the particular flavor of BIS to go for on the two networks to save yourself money[color=#990000]

if you port, you loose your current BIS subscription and any other credit you have left on your MTN line

Glo BBC subscription is working perfectly on bb10 devices. Its what I'm currently using on my z10. Everything works fine and there has not been any case of deduction from my accout balance so far.
