A plan allegedly orchestrated to eliminate the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has been uncovered.

Making this disclosure in Ogbaru, Ogbaru Council Area, Anambra State, the MASSOB Deputy Director of Information, Chris Mocha accused a rival group, Association of Igbo Youths Organization, AIYO of masterminding the plot.

To buttress his point he cited the recent three-day bloody clash between the association and MASSOB in which many offices of both groups were razed as one of the activities lined up by the association aimed at causing disorder to ease elimination of Uwazuruike .

He said, "just yesterday, the Idemili North Regional administrator, Ezeani James and others were matcheted and whisked away to AIYO office at Owerri road , Ogbaru.

"They later released James and the Oyibo our driver and up till now we have still not seen 15 others arrested with them.

"We believe the State Government works hand-in-hand with AIYO because we saw helicopter that landed at Rojenny stadium after hovering to survey MASSOB offices".

However, when contacted, the AIYO state Publicity Secretary, Mr Charles Chikelu described MASSOB claim as frivolous, adding that MASSOB is an illegal organization that has become a nightmare to Igbo race.

“Because we say no to their activities they attacked us first by destroying our office at old market road, we revenged. They extort the traders and collect money from containers by force and even beat up the traders.

“Government should stop them now before their illegal action gets out of hand, and nobody is planning to kill Uwazuruike as they claimed".
