Tonye had been crying all-day. Jnr. cried without understanding much. Upset that Daddy was so dull, he hated the wires that tied him down. However, he was fascinated by the beeping television with the lines. Wale KNEW it would be over soon and tried to pray. He couldn’t concentrate; oddly thinking of cold beers and suya. A sudden shiver and the lines Jnr. was watching flattened out. Wale found himself outside himself, looking at them. The chap-with-the-wings encouraged him. “They’ll be fine. Let’s go.” Wale glanced at him quizzically and the chap smiled, “Yes, the Heineken's cold.” Wale was good-to-go. DISCLAIMER I do not work for NB PLC. This story is pure fiction and does not reflect the author's views regarding the afterlife. |

Muscles tense, he grunts. Tears fill his eyes. Making no sound, he starts over. Taking deep breaths in and out, he pushes again bringing more tears to his eyes. A knock on the door. “Oh gosh”, he swears. He knocked back on the door and whoever had knocked departed. Sweating profusely, his muscles tense again. This time he pushes much harder. “Thunk” and a huge sigh of relief. He gets up and looks into the bowl. “Dang, I gotta eat my veggies” He pulls the handle down and watches in horror as the bowl filled over and spilled its contents. |

She opened her eyes at 6am, the same time she always does. Her curtains were open, she liked to wake up with the sunshine on her face, not today though, it was raining outside. Pushing aside the covers, she got out of bed and headed for the bathroom, stripping along the way. As she stood there under the hot shower, she felt her body slowly awaken. A few minutes later she was dressed and ready to go. Grabbing her thermos from the kitchen, she walked out of the door. Within the next hour, she would kill 3 men. . . . . |

ayinba1: First. . .Rotflmao. Second. . NICE!! Third. . .Ewww! ~Pandora~: God! I loooooooooove it! There's a softness or should I say gentleness to it, which makes it more chilling. @ Crazylegs Please I've got to know how you came up with Crazylegs. I tell ya, everytime I see your name. . .I can't help but chuckle. You don't even want to know what image pops in my head. . . |
Re: Write Your Own Very Own "drabble". by crazylegs(m): 4:25pm On Jun 23, 2008 |
Sisikill: Judging from your sense of imagination I'm dead sure I don't so I'll put you out of your misery. Crazylegs is an extremely daft crane from a cartoon series. I'm a bit daft, and like cartoons so . . . Sisikill isn't a bad name either. |

The silence was deafening, the air stood still, she stood there, with her head bowed, the receiver still in her hand and his words echoing in her head. Her legs went weak, the receiver dropped with a dull thud and so did she. She trembled uncontrollably as the tears fell; she looked around at her plush office with its sophisticated furnishings and shelves full of thick books. Her bag lay on the floor where she had dropped it in her rush to answer the phone; that was only 5mins ago, before her entire world crashed. She let out a loud wail echoing the pain of a shatterd soul. |

I raised my glass to drink. I let it sit on the tips of my lips as my mind drifted into a jungle of my untamed thoughts. To the outside eye I lived a perfect life. I worked at a successful advertising firm and lived with my wife in a beautiful two-bedroom apartment on the upper west side of Manhattan. To the outside eyes we were a model of what many wished to have and looked upon in envy. All heads turned towards us whenever we were together at a social event. My hands always held on gently to her waist and her hands to mine, as if we were inseparable. Her beauty lit up any room and my charisma was just as igniting as her allure. I tilted my hands to take a sip of my drink. The cold drink rushed down my lungs as the tears came flowing down my eyes. She was to blame as much as I was, but I took full responsibility. I absent mindedly lowered my hands and released the glass, but it missed the table and shattered upon the hardwood kitchen floor. The scene resembled a Shakespearian tragedy as the red wine made a river that flowed away from my feet and the shattered glass were like droplets of snow. Even my pain was a masterpiece. To be continued. |

As my keys turned the lock, I knew the instant I stepped into the light, I would see him. And I was proven right. Like a stalker, he monitored my movement, Gesticulating at everything I do. His figure a slanted version of me, dark as the night sky. His silence, a hollow hole in my subconscious leaves a void unfathomable to the swiftest of minds. As a child I had tried chasing him, tried grasping him, All my efforts to no avail. But then again I wonder. . . Why should my shadow be personalized as a he when I'm a she? |
