This is to forewarn Associate members of the Institute who may be due for Fellowship of a questionable practice by staff of the Membership Affairs Department and in particular one Niyi Adesola with staff e-mail of asadesola@ican.org.ng and phone number 08023356214. Please be wary of any e-mail received from him or any other staff of the Membership Affairs department advising you that you are eligible for Fellowship of your Esteemed Institute.

Mr Niyi Adesola sent a mail to some Associate Members advising them that they were eligible to apply to be conferred with the Fellowship of the Institute referring to specific Newspaper adverts and some contact numbers.

Some of the aggrieved associates believing that the Institutes records were of course accurate as is their motto went ahead to rush to meet up with the deadline as advertised since it was stated to be on a first come first serve Basis. After applying online and parting with the requisite 100k (being the Fellowship Conferment fee) as well as 10k per guest they received with shock a message from the same Niyi Adesola telling them that their application for Fellowship Conferment did not get Council’s approval because they did not meet the requirements (See Accuracy & Integrity o!!!) Hence their applications would be stepped down and would be considered for the subsequent year, thereafter advising them to contact the Membership Affairs Unit of the Institute for further details. Those who asked for specific reasons why they didn’t meet up or who asked for refunds got no response.

My people make una judge this matter!!!

Investigations show that this has been the practice over the last 2 years at the very least. So for those wey no get 100k laying around do the following when it’s your turn

If you receive a mail from Niyi Adesola or any other staff of the Membership Affairs Department relating to conferment of fellowship status please do the following before paying into ICAN account so you do not fall prey to this ploy.

1)Find a copy of your ICAN Membership Certificate first.
2)Add 11 years to the date on your Certificate as Fellowship is conferred in the 11th year after you are inducted as a Member i.e. If you qualified in 2005 November Diet and did not achieve Membership status (via Induction) until November 2006 you are eligible for Fellowship Conferment effective January 1st 2017.
3)Ensure your subscription fees are up to date before your online application as this is another reason for ineligibility for conferment of fellowship status.

If the above is not the case do DISREGARD any mail stating you are eligible for Fellowship. YOU ARE NOT you will only be giving ICAN an interest free loan for one year.
