Purpose of the role

To coordinate the company’s financial planning, debt financing, budgeting and cash-flow management functions while overseeing the accounting, monitoring and implementation of internal financial controls. Ensure the company’s accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and best practices.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years professional work experience. He/ she will have a degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance). An MBA will be advantageous but not essential. He/ she will provide financial leadership to colleagues and ensure the interests of shareholders are well protected. They will have an accountancy qualification with previous experience in accounting/ finance related role. The candidate must possess excellent written & spoken English and should be proficient in Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate will have past experience in the consumer goods/ food manufacturing sector.

Job Description
•Manage the company’s cash flow efficiently by keeping track of orders and payments
•Organize developmental funding for internal investment projects
•Manage and report on inventory levels, ensuring receivables and payables are maintained according to company limits
•Preparation of monthly MIS and submission to management in timely manner each month
•Review the general ledger, and carry out intercompany reconciliations and internal audit processes each month
•Ensure bank facility reconciliation is performed on a daily basis to check that interest and bank charges are accurate
•Prepare annual budgets, both operating and capital expenditure budgets, while providing direction and guidance to all managers with regard to their budget preparation
•Work in conjunction with the IT administrator to coordinate and implement improvements in the Navision ERP package and other upgrades providing necessary training to the direct reports
•Ensure that the company is compliant with all statutory and regulatory bodies set by government agencies (Tax, VAT, Environment, Standard Organization of Nigeria)
•Professionally Liaise with suppliers, bankers, auditors, lawyers, PR firms etc.
