It could never be a Virus problem!!! U only have to get a new a battery for your notebook. The battery u are using now is probably used out. Get a new battery!!! it shouldn't be tht expensive i guess.

for ANY item that uses a rechargeable battery, you MUST disconnect the battery if you are not going to use the item for more than a week. otherwise, the battery will discharge.

i think the dirty power supply from mPHCN( complete with voltage fluctuations, surges and spikes is also responsible )

as you've been advised, buy a new battery.

@poster, oyb is absolutely right about that.  That could be a reason you're experiencing the battery issue.  What I'd suggest you do at this point before opting for a new battery, is to caliberate it.  Notebook batteries should be caliberated at least after every 3 months of usage.  Some notebooks have built-in utility that you can access via BIOS during boot process while most don't.  The easiest way to caliberate it is to let it completely discharge while you're using the battery; however, do save your work as you go but I'd suggest not work on any important doc once it reaches 9%.  You can surf the web till it's completely discharged and charge it to 100% and discharge it again the second time.  Recharge it to 100% again and see how long it'll last after that.  If it lasts less than at least 2 hours, then take oyb's advice and the other posters that suggested getting a new battery.

You are probably right but I would explore other possibilities too.  For instance, the slowless could be caused by a badly fragmented HD, which in this case a good defragmenting utility (free) like Defraggler or Auslogics Disk Defrag should take care of that.  On the other hand, it won't hurt to update your A/V, A/S software and run a complete scan in safe mode.  Oh, by the way, you're better off running a defrag in safe mode as well because in active mode some of the files that might be fragmented might be in use.  Peace!

some weeks ago i plugd it 2 charge it when i discovered that my charging port was no more,bt i was wrong .
an engineer told me it was d motherboard that was bad.bt d good thing is if i use another computers battery with it,it wrks perfctly.
note**hp compaq nx 6310 have an xternal port under it 4 external battery.i want to get it and c if it will wrk.pls if u knw bout this device tell me more bout it

i dnt really knw much bout this accessory bt its capable of giving u at least 4 hours of wrk time if charged full.u connect it in a port u slide open beneath ur laptop.if other charged compaq batteries wrk 4 me.i thnk d accessory 2 wil wrk.

There are other issues that could slow down your machine apart from viruses.
Try any of these:
1. Defragment your drive.
2. Scan and check your disk.
3. Remove unwanted programs on your machine.
4. Clear your machine of all cookies, temporary internet files e.t.c once in a while.
They may enhance your performance.
